'We don't mess around!' Reese Witherspoon treats golf-mad son Deacon to a hole-in-one birthday cake as he turns 12

Reese Witherspoon pulled out all the stops for her golf-loving son Deacon's 12th birthday.

The Wild star posted a photo on social media showing off the green hole-in-one birthday cake she'd created for the youngster complete with a sand bunker, lake, hole, flag and golf ball.

'When it's my sweet, golf-loving boy's birthday.....we don't mess around!' she wrote alongside the picture.

Reese Witherspoon feted her son Deacon for his birthday and pulled out all the stops. Not only did she present him a birthday cake that looked like a golf course (the kid loves golf, we're told), but she dressed up for the occasion too.

Reese can often be found wearing her own line, Draper James, and, on Friday, when she was snapped in this pic, that was no exception. She's wearing the Hollis cross-front fitted dress and we love the bright fuchsia lotus flowers against a white background. Another detail that caught our eye is the cross-front halter neck with straps that continue down the back.

The Hollywood star also shared a photo of herself wearing a pretty floral dress standing with her arm around Deacon, who was dapper in a bow tie and blazer.

She wrote a sweet message to her son alongside the snap, telling him: 'You bring joy to everyone you know. I feel so blessed to be your mom.'

Deacon's dad is Reese's first husband, actor Ryan Philippe, and he has an older sister Ava, who's 16.

He also has a younger brother Tennessee, three,  whose dad is Reese's husband, talent agent Jim Toth.

Reese, 39, has successfully juggled career and motherhood raising her three kids while becoming one of the most respected actresses in Tinseltown.

Shee won an Academy Award for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in Walk The Line and has served as a producer on Gone Girl, Wild and Hot Pursuit..

She's currently prepping the HBO mini series Big Little Lies in which she'll star with Nicole Kidman and is set to reunite with her Election director Alexander Payne in the dramatic comedy Downsizing alongside Matt Damon and Neil Patrick Harris.

Next up though is another encounter with Miss Piggy.

On Tuesday night's episode of The Muppets, the rivalry between the two Hollywood stars comes to a head as they take their feud to the next level while volunteering for Habitat For Humanity.

The episode is called Walk The Swine and airs at  8 p.m. on ABC.
