He has been open about his weight struggles and has worked hard to shift the pounds since his singing talent saw him thrust into the limelight almost overnight.

But Sam Smith's healthy lifestyle certainly looks to be paying off as the 23-year-old singer showcased his slim physique as he partied the night away at Los Angeles' 1Oak nightclub on Saturday night.

Joined by equally remarkable crooner Jessie Ware, Sam was seen walking arm-in-arm with the Wildest Moments hit-maker as they headed toward an awaiting car.

According to TMZ, the waiting car was an Uber... but not his Uber. The site reported the driver had actually been booked by Puff Daddy's son Justin Combs, who was then left standing on the sidewalk when Sam made his getaway.

The typically suave singer was certainly dressed the part in a dapper navy suit which he teamed with a more casual navy T-shirt. 

He gave the look a sassy finish with a pair of black brogues, a dainty gold chain and an opulent gold watch. 

Jessie opted for a slightly more relaxed style in a slinky black sundress, which she paired with a denim jacket and woven block heels.

The British songwriter hinted on Sunday that the two had knocking back the drinks during their night on the town, posting a comical poster on Instagram that read: 'Tequila! Have you hugged your toilet today?'

Meanwhile, the Stay With Me singer recently opened up to NME about his struggle with negative body image, which he has endured since he was a child.

Despite losing almost 50Ib over the past year, Sam told the publication: 'I still feel pressured to look a certain way.'

He added: 'For women, the pressure in this industry is horrendous and it’s got to stop. But it’s the same for guys, even though they won’t speak about it.

'I want to be a voice for that: just because I’ve lost weight doesn’t mean that I’m happy and content with my body. Because of the media, and because of what I feel I should look like, it’s always going to be a battle in my head.'
