O'Donnell, 50, also gave her followers a health update following her heart attack earlier this month.

Rosie told of her nuptials on her blog yesterday - just a week after suffering a near-fatal heart attack.

'When we are both well enough we will have the wedding of our dreams, surrounded by those we cherish, thankful for the love and support so many have given us during these trying times.'

The wedding was originally planned for this month but was pushed forward after Michelle, 41, was diagnosed with a rare and often fatal disease.

'My wife Michelle was diagnosed with desmoid tumors in June,' Rosie explained. 'A mysterious rare, too often fatal disease that affects 3 in a million people.'

As a result of Michelle's illness the couple postponed a planned wedding with their friends and families.

Rosie explained that this was unexpectedly lucky, as the wedding could not have gone ahead anyway due to her heart attack.

'We were to wed 10 days ago but her illness forced us to postpone the wedding, luckily - as I was in ICU that day.'

Rosie's representative told People magazine that the couple had yet to have their wedding celebration.

'It is such a rare tumour. It took them quite a while to get an accurate diagnosis,' she explained of Michelle's illness. 'She had several gastrointestinal surgeries to remove the desmoid turmors. She is now on the road to recovery.'

The wedding is Rosie's second. She was previously married to Kelli Carpenter, with whom she has four children.
