They originally met seven years ago at an event for his sister's charity.

And American Idol's season 11 winner Phillip Phillips, 25, finally married his longtime girlfriend Hannah Blackwell on Saturday evening, according to People.

The ceremony took place in his home town of Albany, Georgia in front of 250 guests.

Meeting Hannah even predates Phillip's big win on American Idol back in 2012, and in the interview with People he couldn't help but gush over his new bride.

'I'm so excited!' Phillip said. 'What I love most about her is she's my best friend and I can tell her anything. I just love her.'

The connection really seems genuine, as Hannah reciprocated the loving comments.

'I feel like when I met Phillip, he was the answer to so many questions that I had. He just makes everything make sense for me.' 

It is reported that the beaming bride was wearing a Hayley Paige wedding gown, while the dashing groom sported a Billy Reid tux as the couple exchanged custom vows.

After a reception later on Saturday, the couple will jet away for their honeymoon, which Phillip may especially need, as it was announced just last month that his new manager is being sued by American Idol for $4 million.

First reported by TMZ, legal documents claim the singer was poached from Idol's management company 19 Entertainment, and they want $4 million in compensation. 

In January, the singer, 25, filed paperwork to void the contract he signed as an aspiring contestant on the reality show, calling the agreement one-sided and unfair.
