Margot Robbie urges fans to dig into their pockets to feed starving children in the Philippines as she is moved by their plight while filming Tarzan

She is currently working in the Philippines on her new movie Tarzan.

And during her time in the exotic location, Margot Robbie has taken the time to practise some goodwill, as she helped out those less fortunate than herself.

The Wolf of Wall Street actress lent her support to a campaign to help improve the quality of life for the poor and underprivileged children of the Philippines.

Whilst visiting the region and helping a group of less fortunate children by cooking them a meal, the 25-year-old took to social media to urge fans to get behind the worthy cause.

In an Instagram image of Margot posing for a selfie with a group of children, the Suicide Squad star implored her 1.3 million followers to volunteer their time helping out the country’s poverty stricken or to donate money to the Rise Above Foundation.

In her post, the Australian star made a note of the important fact that 100 pounds will feed 400 hungry children.

‘If you visit the #philippines I IMPLORE you to do this!’ she wrote underneath the image.

‘£100 feeds 400 kids. Or simply donate online www.riseabove-cebu.org and someone can do the cooking for you,’ she added.

Margot will play the iconic Jane Porter in the upcoming Warner Bros blockbuster Tarzan.

The talented actress appears to be already getting into character, posting a video to Instagram of herself swinging from a vine-like rope, Tarzan style, into a river in a rainforest in the Filipino city of Bohol.

The Hollywood star can be heard letting out a loud scream as she flies through the air before plunging into the beautiful Bohol water.

Tarzan, which stars True Blood hunk Alexander Skarsgard in the titular role, is currently due for release on July 1, 2016.

However, the movie is already plagued with speculation of production troubles and fears that it could become a box office failure.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the still unfinished movie is 'needing considerable work' before it's released next year.

But director David Yates has already started shooting his next project, J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

It's also reportedly performed poorly in test screenings, but studio sources at Warner insist this is a normal part of the process as films are routinely screened throughout production so they can be revised and improved.

With a budget of around US $180 million, Warner will be hoping that Tarzan is a hit - especially after the failure of their last family blockbuster, Pan.

Pan, which stars Hugh Jackman and Amanda Seyfried, bombed at the box office and received scathing reviews from critics.

As for Margot, she has multiple movies in the pipeline, including a starring role in the new superhero film Suicide Squad.
