Racy Rita Ora makes the most of her incredible legs in a red leather dress as she steals the limelight on X Factor live debut

Rita Ora was supposed to be taking a backseat as co-judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Simon Cowell picked their finalists live on Saturday night's show.

But the pop goddess certainly didn't stay out of the limelight when she opted for a racy red leather dress to make her debut on X Factor's first live show.

Rita was kicking back with glamorously clad hostess Caroline Flack who was setting the style bar equally high in a leggy green dress.

Stay ahead of the curve in Caroline's dress by Red Valentino

The X Factor was live tonight for the first time this series and it was everything we could have hoped for and more.

Of course judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Rita Ora set the style bar high, but co-host Caroline Flack gave them a run for their money! She teamed this gorgeous little green dress by Red Valentino (confusing, we know!) with some gold block heel sandals and we have to say we love the look.

Green is a great color for this time of year. Not only will it stand out from the sea of LBDs, but it's also rather festive. Yes, we're already thinking about party season! Scalloped detailing is signature Valentino but buying this diffusion line look is a good way to get a designer piece in your wardrobe for a little less. Since green in the color to be seen in right now, there are plenty of budget-friendly options on the high street too.

Rita, with her hair poker straight, put on a sensational first display after converting from her former Saturday night slot on The Voice.

It would be the first time that The X Factor has gone out in real time since it returned with a refreshed panel earlier this year.

But the pressure was on for Cheryl and Simon for Saturday at least when the groups and the Over 25s were handpicked from six to the studio audience and the viewers at home.

For Rita, her big decisions would be made on Sunday, so she had the opportunity to kick back with Caroline and co-host Olly Murs instead.

Caroline is similarly new to the spotlight this year, having previously taken a place as Xtra Factor host on ITV2 with pop star Olly.

It didn't seem to phase the petite blonde all the same, since her style credentials were doing the talking for her.

Pressure's off: But the racy blonde didn't want to lose sight of the limelight even for one night when she plumped for a bright red ensemble

Caroline, standing beside a sharp Olly, hit the stage in silver heels and a festive green dress to make her debut as one half of the new double act.

It was also a bit more of an easy ride for Nick Grimshaw on Saturday as seasoned judges Cheryl and Simon decided to loosen up on a baptism of fire for the show's two new panel recruits.

Nick was characteristically cool in all black, displaying something of a chilled vibe despite the impending nerves ahead of tomorrow's showdown.

Stunner: Cheryl was first on the new live stage, clearly nervous about making her decision, as she stepped out on stage looking sensational in a slick black trouser suit with white lapel
