A rare sighting of 30 dolphins performing incredible tricks and huge jumps has been captured on camera just 650ft off the English coast. The large pod of dolphins can be seen swimming in synchronisation and leaping over heights of 10ft in the air together. Spectators on the boat were stunned as the playful dolphins swam up to them and started entertaining them off the coast of the Isle of Wight.

Around 230 participants gathered in Stroehen, Germany for the first round of the dog sled North German Off-Snow championships. And the challenges of trekking through the snow was replaced with something a lot more testing - and a lot dirtier. Husky dogs among others pulled their owners around on bicycles and trolleys through thick mud around a three-mile course at the Wagenfeld zoo.

Pilots of the Germanwings flight from Cologne were notified by air traffic controllers over France that part of the engine's cover had come loose and fallen off as the plane was ascending. The captain of flight 4U592 decided to continue the two hour journey to Palma. The maintenance of the aircraft had been checked the night before.

The hotel is part of an £8billion riverside development to transform the 42-acre former brownfield site in Battersea, London, into homes, shops, cafes, offices and public space, including the restoration of the Grade II-listed power station. It will be run by the Amsterdam-based group art'otel and is due to open in a Lord Foster-designed building in 2019. The residents' infinity pool and bar (pictured top) will be on the 60-metre high roof, next to gardens designed by the team behind New York's High Line. It is the crowning feature of the 160-room hotel which will also have a dining room and bar at the top of it, complete with panoramic views of the London skyline (bottom).

Painters from Canada, the US and Germany were hired for the around-the-clock project - which shows Olaf on a beach near the front of the plane while the sisters work icy winter magic from the tail. The inside of the plane, which was painted in Fort Worth, Texas, has a changing season theme with blue and yellow lighting, overhead bins and headrests covered in sunflowers and snowflakes.

On a runway far, far away... Chewbacca and stormtroopers buckle in as Japanese airline's Star Wars-themed jet makes its maiden flight
The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner JA873A, that is also known as, the 'R2-D2 ANA JET, took flight from Haneda, Japan, to Vancouver, Canada on Sunday. The day before the maiden journey, fans turned up dressed as their favourite characters to see the new planes, which have been decorated in the familiar blue and white stripes of the lovable droid R2-D2.
Monarch flight to Malaga forced to make emergency landing in Manchester because part of the aircraft WING was 'hanging off'
The pilot of Flight ZB654 from Manchester to Malaga, Spain, was forced to turn back this morning and land at Manchester Airport after discovering somewhere near Gloucester that part of the wing had come loose (left). According to passenger accounts, there was also a problem with cabin pressure, with the cabin and the rest of the plane depressurising at a different rate. The aircraft was met by fire crews upon its impromptu landing (top right) though no passengers were injured and all 154 were quickly transferred to another Monarch flight.
