'Putting everything in order!' Kim Richards moves into new apartment after 'living in her car following shoplifting arrest'

She was allegedly left living in her car after her life spiralled out of control. 

But it looks like Kim Richards is taking the first steps towards getting her life back on track.

TMZ reported on Sunday that the former Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star has moved into a small apartment in the upscale Westwood neighbourhood of Los Angeles.

The 51-year-old has rented a one-bedroom and one-bath space in a building with amenities including a gym, a source told the website.

It may be small, but it's not cheap. Rent in the building ranges from $3,000 to $5,000 a month.

How Kim will pay for it is a matter of speculation since she was dropped from Bravo reality show RHOBV after her problems with alcohol and the law this year.  

In a recent interview with friend and former castmate Brandi Glanville on her podcast,  the Sharknado 3 actress shared that she's getting her life back together.

'It's good, it's better now. It was a rough time for a bit there and now just putting everything back in order and just focusing on my family and me,' she said.

Kim was arrested on April 16 for public intoxication after refusing to leave the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills and charged with resisting an officer, battery and trespassing.

The former child star spent several hours in the police station after the late night altercation..

Later that month, the blonde checked herself into rehab following an intervention by Dr. Phil during which she admitted to drinking and taking prescription painkillers.

However, she checked out of the facility to attend daughter Brooke Brinson's destination wedding in Mexico and fell off the wagon.

Kim went back into a different rehab facility to continue working on her sobriety.

She was arrested again on August 2 for allegedly shoplifting more than $600 worth of items from a Target in Los Angeles and spent the night in jail.

The celebrity accepted a plea deal for the Polo Lounge altercation last month.

The deal's conditions included attending a year of Alcoholics Anonymous, probation and staying away from the Beverly Hills Hotel, where the Polo Lounge is located.
