Her father is renowned for doing all of his own high-octane stunts.

But little Suri Cruise proved she's got a natural active streak when mum Katie Holmes treated the nine-year-old to an ice skating trip with a friend on Sunday.

Showing off her prowess, Tom and Katie's child beamed from ear to ear, unable to be missed as she wrapped up in a hot pink winter coat for the afternoon in Central Park, New York.

She mimicked her mum Katie, who was looking chic in a burgundy winter coat with a shearling wool collar and cuffs; setting a good example to the pre-teens on a what seemed to be a crisp Autumn day.

No doubt given the run around by her only daughter, Katie also kept comfortable in trainers and ripped boyfriend jeans.

She carried their candy floss, watched them as they skated and even got on board with the fun when she joined them on the carousel.

Katie, with her hair scraped back into a high bun, cut a striking resemblance to her little one, who similarly had her hair tied back.

And like her mother, Suri was perfectly co-ordinated with her pink mittens matching her pretty Peter Pan collar coat and a pair of winter boots keeping her warm.

It's been a busy summer for working mum-of-one Katie, who have been making her directorial debut with the film All We Had, based on the 2014 book by Annie Weatherwax.

The film, starring Stefania Owen and Luke Wilson, sees Katie take on the role of Rita Carmichael, a struggling mother to a 13-year-old girl.

On her directorial achievements so far, the former Dawson's Creek actress recently said: 'I'm going to keep practising directing. I could rehearse for years.

'I love it. I've been doing this for a long time, but every experience is so different, based on [whom] you're working with.

'I always try to go into a project with a goal in mind of what I want out of it for myself, in terms of what I want to learn.'
