Rebel with a cause! Ms. Wilson cuts a casual figure as she steps out in Hollywood... hours after unveiling new plus size clothing line

It was a low key Rebel Wilson who emerged in on Friday - just hours after the Australian actress unveiled her new plus size clothing range at a glitzy Hollywood soiree.

Arriving at the iconic Chateau Marmont hotel, Rebel, 35, looked relaxed as she climbed from behind the wheel of her car.

With her eyes shielded behind a pair of heavily tinted sunglasses, the Sydney born star greeted onlookers with a wave and a genial smile as she made her way inside.

Rebel, best known for her roles in Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids, dressed down in a striped T-shirt and fitted trousers with distinctive zip embellishments. 

A rather snazzy pair of pointed shoes appeared to round off the ensemble while offering it a colourful flourish by virtue of their glossy lilac finish. 

With her tousled hair tied in a loose messy bun, it was a significantly more subdued Rebel who stepped out following her high profile clothing launch the previous evening.

Rebel, who readily admits that she is a size 16 to 18 has spent the last year putting the finishing touches to her fashion range 'Rebel Wilson for Torrid.'

Opening up about being plus-size in the public eye and thin-obsessed Hollywood, Wilson said that she wants other curvy women to be 'confident and not ashamed of how they look.'

She told Yahoo: 'I want to promote people being healthy but also being happy in their own size. And if you happen to be bigger or blessed with that great gene of easily gaining weight or all the other reasons people can be overweight, you should feel confident in that and not be ashamed of how you look.'

Adding: 'In the 18th century, [plus size] was the perfect body type and that could come back again! I'm hoping sooner rather than later. But I get a lot of action. I'm not complaining.' 

'Plus is good, like if you get an A+, it's heaps better than an A in your exams,' she jokingly told Yahoo.

'I don't mind it. I like the plus size thing, or being called a curvy girl. Whatever people want to say. I play a character called 'Fat Amy' (in Pitch Perfect) and I've become quite famous for it. So obviously, I'm not precious about adjectives.'

Prices for Wilson's affordable fashion line start at $22.50 and go up to $98.50. It's set to cater for women who wear size 12 to 28 and will mimic the best in High street fashions.

Rebel Wilson is launching her own range of clothing with U.S. plus size brand Torrid.

It won't be available online until Nov. 1, but she gave us a sneak peek at the party to celebrate the collaboration. And if this dress is anything to go by, expect fabulous party numbers that are sure to turn heads.

Rebel modeled a chic red-and-black lace pencil dress with sexy thigh split on the red carpet. We love that peplum waist detail which acts to create an hourglass silhouette. It's a great little frock that'll be on sale just in time for party season.
