He's still got his Spider-Man shapes: Tobey Maguire carries his son on his shoulders as he and wife Jennifer Meyers take children to lunch

He might have last played Spider-man on the big screen in 2007 but it seems that Tobey Maguire hasn't forgotten his Spider-Man moves. 

As he carried his son Otis on his shoulders it looked like the actor was trying to create the shape of the eight-legged animal. 

Tobey held his son arms out wide, mimicking an arachnid, as the family strolled through the streets of Venice, California.

And while Tobey kept their son entertained, his wife Jennifer Meyers was tasked with keeping an eye on their daughter Ruby. 

The family appeared relaxed as they enjoyed a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch together and were dressed accordingly. 

Tobey, 40, wore a pair of navy sweat pant shorts, a matching T-shirt and a pair of Nike trainers.

Jewellery designer Jennifer wore a pair of red and navy striped shorts, a white T-shirt with a red bra underneath. 

While Tobey and his six year old son larked around she was hand to capture the moment on her camera phone.

While the actor was last seen in his Spider-Man suit in the 2007 film, actor Tom Holland, who is taking on the role in a reboot of the franchise said that he'll look to Tobey's performance for inspiration. 

Speaking at Ed Sheeran's Jumpers For Goalposts premiere last week Tom said: 'They were so great, and such real and rich performances, there were obviously factors that I love and will try to recreate.' 

In recent year Tobey has shifted his focus from being in front of the camera to working behind it building up his own production company, Material Pictures. 

Next year sees the release of The 5th Wave, with Tobey acting as producer for the flick.
