He persuaded her to go on a date after wowing her with a cringe-worthy Top Gun-inspired rendition of You've Lost That Loving Feeling.

And it seems that Dan Edgar was keen to keep the surprises coming for former flame Kate Wright.

The electrician decided to treat Kate to a mystery date on Thursday and went to extreme lengths to conceal the location of their romantic trip.

Surprise date: Dan Edgar took Kate Wright to hand feel lions on Thursday

The pair were seen arriving at a wildlife park, but thanks to a handy blindfold, Kate was unaware of her surroundings.

Dan led Kate to the lion enclosure, where he removed the scarf and told her they were going to hand feed the beasts.

The duo were then seen passing bits of meat to the lions, who appeared incredibly tame, through the fencing.

It seems that Dan was hoping to show Kate that she could trust him again, after he broke up with her after joining the show last year.

And it seems that by taking part in the seemingly high risk activity feeding the wild beasts, Dan was hoping to show that he was worth a risk too.

Kate didn't let her Essex roots down by being excessively preened for the date.

She sported her long blonde locks into a heavily styled behind with curls tumbling down her shoulders.

The reality star wore a pair of black jeans with suede over-the-knee boots, a black top and a stone-coloured suede jacket for the date.

Meanwhile Dan appeared to have put considerable effort into his appearance too.

He had his hair slicked back and was dressed in a pair of light coloured skinny jeans and a T-shirt, woolen jacket and scarf in different shades of grey.

And it seems like the date went well with the pair both feeding the animals.

At one point when Dan and Kate were having an intimate moment they were photobombed by a hungry beast.

While Kate and Dan appear to be rekindling their romance, sadly things aren't looking so positive for James Argent and Lydia Bright.

It appears that Lydia has had enough and ended things for good.

While Arg was treated to a boys night out in the woods with Tommy Mallett, Diags and Dan, Lydia was taken to a hugging session with her family and friends.
