And Katie Holmes proved her fashion sense is just as multifaceted when she arrived to a star-studded luncheon in New York City on Monday.

The 36-year-old sported an elegant white and black blazer teamed with casual pair of skinny jeans, marrying business and comfort.

Mother-of-one Katie, certainly has become adept at wearing many hats as she has been busy making her directorial debut with the film All We Had, based on the 2014 book by Annie Weatherwax.

The movie, starring Stefania Owen and Luke Wilson, sees Katie take on the role of Rita Carmichael, a struggling mother to a 13-year-old girl.

On her directorial achievements so far, the former Dawson's Creek actress recently said: 'I'm going to keep practising directing. I could rehearse for years.
