Party girl Courtney Love sports smeared black make-up while flaunting her cleavage in low-cut dress as she enjoys dinner date with mystery man

Courtney Love stepped out looking slightly worse for wear on Monday evening.

The 51-year-old rocker couldn't hide the smeared make-up on her face as she emerged from the popular Craig's restaurant in West Hollywood, California after an evening meal.

Walking hand-in-hand with a male companion, the star caught the eye - not just for her bright ensemble - but the make-up haphazardly smudged down her face.

Never one to be bothered by a slightly dishevelled appearance, though, the Hole frontwoman seemed unfazed as she made her exit from the eatery, holding tightly to her companion's hand.

The star also showed off a sizeable amount of her ample chest, wearing seriously low-cut magenta pink dress without a bra.

She added another pop of colour to her eveningwear with a pale blue coat - which was undone over her bust - and a darker blue tote bag.

Courtney finished her look with a pair of strappy black peep-toe Christian Louboutin heels.

Her golden blonde locks were effortlessly styled into chaotic waves, only accentuating her tousled appearance.

The musician and actress - most famously known as Nirvana star Kurt Cobain's widow - had lined her bright blue eyes with black kohl.

But the effect was ruined as it was completely smeared down below her eyes and onto her upper cheeks.

It appeared to have been a fun night as Courtney remained in great spirits as she made her departure with her mystery man, who looked like quite the fashion follower in his dark denim shirt and tied-up neck scarf.

Courtney's appearance at Craig's comes as a new documentary film following new intelligence being revealed around Kurt's death back in 1994 raised new suspicions over his death.

In Benjamin Statler's anticipated film Soaked In Bleach, experts are seen dissecting Kurt's suicide note, which throws up a dramatic set of questions in the investigation.

Former Seattle police chief Norm Stamper, who stood at the helm of the Seattle Police Department from 1994 to 2000, is front and centre of Statler's film as he declares the investigation into Kurt's death should be reopened.

According to the official version of events, the Nirvana singer killed himself with a shotgun blast to the head on April 5, 1994, inside his home near Lake Washington, in the Seattle area.

But the volatile musician's untimely, violent demise has been the subject of intense speculation -giving rise to the idea that Kurt was murdered.

In the new documentary, Stetler presents the case from the point of view of private investigator Tom Grant, who was hired by Cobain's wife to find the missing musician just days before he turned up dead.

The newly-released teaser highlights a conspiracy theory, as Heidi Harralson, a forensic document examiner, presents her findings from a detailed look at the suicide note which Courtney has kept under lock and key in a safe deposit box since her husband's death.

Heidi explains that the investigation discovered a 'handwriting practice sheet' found in Courtney's bag which contained different letters of the alphabet, and was compared to the suicide note.

The practice sheet found in Courtney's belongings contains 'letter combinations of specific letters that are found in the bottom portion of the suicide note,' explains Heidi in the clip.

'It is possible that someone else with some skill could indeed imitate his writing, especially those last few lines,' she claims.

Meanwhile, Courtney was also recently dealt another personal life blow as she was left out of her daughter Frances Bean Cobain's wedding.

The 23-year-old is said to have secretly married her long-time boyfriend Isaiah Silva, but her mother was notably absent from the celebration.
