Theatrical pursuits came second best to quality time on Monday as Nicole Kidman stepped out with husband Keith Urban in London

The Australian actress mingled with shoppers at a local farmers market just hours before entertaining fans with another performance in well received West End play Photograph 51.

With country music legend Keith in tow, Nicole, 48, paused to buy a fresh baguette from a nearby stall while her husband idled close by.

The Hollywood star cut a casual figure in a grey wool sweater and skinny jeans as she browsed the aromatic array of loaves, her instantly recognisable face partially concealed behind a pair of heavily tinted sunglasses.

Strolling by her side, Keith, also 48, matched her relaxed ensemble with a low key leather jacket and jeans.

The New Zealand born musician - a long-running judge on US show American Idol - completed his look with raffish hat and his own pair of tinted shades.

Their brief outing came the day before Nicole's latest appearance at the Noël Coward Theatre, where she's enjoying a hugely successful run in Photograph 51 as Dr. Rosalind Franklin - the groundbreaking scientist responsible for discovering DNA.

Exiting the West End venue later that night the actress looked understandably pleased as she headed home with Keith.

Walking hand in hand, the couple beamed  while making their way onto the street following another storming performance.

Nicole looked stylish in a tailored shirt and sweater over skinny black trousers and slip on trainers for the journey.

A black leather handbag, clutched in her left hand, rounded things off, while her ginger locks were naturally styled with an effortless centre parting.

Away from her primary role the busy star has also been lending her acting talents to a new theatrical production directed Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle.

Children's Monologues, a one-off theatrical event featuring the likes of Nicole, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cressida Bonas, was staged to raise money for Dramatic Need, an arts charity helping children in Africa.
