Sam had been performing at CBS Radio's We Can Survive concert, held in aid of breast cancer awareness, and revealed his decision to take a touring hiatus during an interview with ET Online.
Revealing the difficult decision to step away from live-performances for an unknown period of time, he said: 'I am sad, but also it feels right. It's my last performance in America, and it feels right to do it in such a beautiful setting.'
He explained his reasons, explaining: 'I've been going now for three years nonstop and it feels right for me to just go home and just live my life and be a 23-year-old.
'My love life, the downs and ups, it never stops, so I'm always inspired by stuff like that, but it'd be good to spend some time dating.'

But while fans of the singer will be disappointed by the news, Sam appears to have picked the right time to step-back and contemplate his next move - following his latest success with Spectre.
Attending the royal premiere of the latest James Bond film in London on Monday night, the singer hit the red carpet along with the movies stars after he provided the lead song for the film.
Mingling with Hollywood A-Listers including Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes, Chritoph Waltz and Monica Bellucci, the singer seemed perfectly at ease in his dapper evening dress.
But while Sam's track, Writing On The Wall, has been a hit not only with fans of his and the Bond franchise, the singer recently revealed a more artistic desire drove him to pursue the accolade.

'It's the most timeless, classiest thing there is to me to do so to be in the short list for something like that is unreal but to do it, just hasn't sunk in.'
