She's a model, actress and fashion designer who recently added the title of World's Sexiest Woman to her resume.

The star, who started out playing Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, has launched a stellar career since leaving the cobbled streets of Weatherfield behind.

In perhaps her biggest coup of the year, Michelle Keegan was voted FHM's Sexiest Woman In The World 2015, beating the likes of Kendall Jenner and Jennifer Lawrence to the top spot.

However, the Lipsy designer, 28, has admitted that wasn't always the case, revealing that she didn't look good throughout her entire high school years.

Speaking to Now magazine's Gilly Ferguson, she said: 'I was the ugly duckling out of my group - there are some horrendous pictures of me out there. I'm not insecure but all girls have something they're funny about. I do like my feet and hands, though.'

Radiant Michelle also revealed that the boys at school would often make comments about her teeth.

She explained: 'I get a lot of stick for having fake ones. I was so self-conscious. One day this boy shouted really loud: '"Your teeth are falling out". It really got to me.'

Times have certainly changed for Michelle, who has made the transformation from fresh-faced soapstar to the most sought-after lady in the world.

Speaking to Now magazine, Michelle, left, last week, and, right, in her teens, said: 'I was the ugly duckling out of my group - there are some horrendous pictures of me out there. I'm not insecure but all girls have something they're funny about. I do like my feet and hands, though'

Michelle, who hails from Stockport, Manchester, was born to an English father and Gibraltarian mother.

Long before her showbiz days, Michelle, who attended the Manchester School of Acting, had a job at Selfridges in the Trafford Centre and also as a check-in agent at Manchester Airport.

Her big break came in 2007 when she landed the role of Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, beating 900 young women to the coveted job.

Keegan's character was killed off in 2014. But that wasn't the last we would be seeing of her.

Since then, Michelle's career has gone from strength to strength. In 2015, she scored the role of Tracy in the BBC television drama series, Ordinary Lies.

And it wasn't just her acting abilities that were getting her noticed.

Michelle was snapped up for a major beauty campaign by Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer Self Tan range earlier this year and she also managed to fit designing a new fashion range into her hectic schedule.

The designer has been chanelling her passion for fashion into Lipsy ranges for several seasons now - and her success shows no sign of abating.

So how has Michelle overhauled her look? Speaking to FEMAIL recently, the star revealed the regime that keeps her fit, healthy and glowing from the inside out.

The star, who says her ultimate beauty secrets are simply drinking lots of water and always taking her make-up off before bed, also swears by LVL eyelash treatments.

LVL, which stands for length, volume and lift, flicks, curls and straightens lashes from the roots up so they appear much longer.

The star also spoke about how important looking good was to her and how she takes a 'less is more' approach to make-up.

Her beauty regime is fairly minimal and she simply cleanses, tones and moisturises every day and treats herself to a facial every other week to rehydrate her skin.

Bodywise, she swears by the 8-minute abs YouTube video, which she does when she gets home from the gym.
