Former LA Lakers player Rick Fox reached out to Khloe Kardashian after husband Lamar Odom's hospitalization earlier this month.

The 45-year-old actor reportedly sent a message of support to the reality star - who he was romantically linked to earlier this year - to see if he could help her in any way.

The retired athlete, who also used to play against former Clippers player Lamar, told Us Weekly 'I sent a text offering any help I can give,'

He added: 'Anything needed, I am here for Lamar, definitely. I hope he is making progress'

Fox was speaking to the magazine at Monday night's Paley Center for Media's Hollywood Tribute to African-American Achievements in Television.

The former One Tree Hill star looked dapper in a dark grey suit and displayed a neatly trimmed salt and pepper beard.

The two former athletes briefly played against each other when Lamar played for the LA Clippers from 1999-2003 and Fox played for the Lakers.

Reconciling: Khloe - pictured with Lamar in 2012 - has stopped her divorce from the former NBA star after his collapse and coma earlier this month

Former flame? Khloe and Fox were spotted out having dinner in May but the actor told press at the time 'Khloe's a good friend'

Lamar traded to the Lakers in 2004, just after Fox retired from the sport.

Khloe and Fox were linked back in May when they were pictured meeting at Casa Vega restaurant in Sherman Oaks for a fun dinner together.

Meanwhile Khloe had been estranged from husband Lamar since 2013 but the duo have reconciled and withdrew their divorce papers last week.

Lamar, 35, was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital after a drink and drug binge in a Nevada brothel left him comatose.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has remained by his side throughout his recovery - at one point being told the 6ft 10in star had only a 50/50 chance of survival.

The week it was reported that Khloe has said she has every intention of continuing with the divorce if Lamar slips back into his bad habits with substance abuse.

The couple married in 2009 after one month of dating.
