'It’s really cool that we’re getting the opportunity to kick some a** and show that girls can be funny and cool and strong,' she said, adding: 'And we can do it all in heels.'

Emma, who starred on Nickelodeon series Unfabulous as a child, also spoke about the difficulty of growing up in the spotlight.

'The hardest part is the lack of privacy,' she said, adding: 'It’s really difficult, but I’ve been used to it for so long that I don’t know what it would be like any other way.'

However, she did admit she felt lucky that social media was not as big back when she was younger as it is now.

'I’m also really glad things like Twitter and Instagram weren’t as intrusive when I was 14 or 15,' Emma shared.

That school of thinking actually led Emma to sign on as the face of lingerie brand Aerie, as they ran an un-retouched campaign earlier this year.

She said she was inspired to do it because 'with social media, everybody puts their best face forward and you never really know what’s real and what’s not.'

'I thought it would be nice to do something natural and show people Emma instead of Emma Roberts,' the Palo Alto star added.

And though Emma stressed the idea that 'people in Hollywood are just like everybody else,' she did admit to undeniable perks, such as 'getting to dress up and be paid for it.'

For example, the blonde beauty couldn't help but gush about a purple Ralph Lauren jacket from her costume that she had been gifted after falling in love with it on set.

'It’s now my most prized possession. It’s 90 degrees outside and I want to wear it to dinner, I’m going to wear it around the house with nothing underneath,' she dished.
