Once again, Lara Flynn Boyle had people wondering what happened to her face.

The former Twin Peaks star was virtually unrecognisable as she stepped out in Los Angeles' Brentwood area to run some errands on Wednesday.

Lara, now 45, revealed a somewhat puffy visage and plumped up lips from behind her tinted sunglasses.

The actress was dressed down in low-slung, grey track trousers, a grey T-shirt and light blue sweat jacket, and peeking from beneath her top was a glimpse of tummy.

Lara was seen chatting with a male friend and then padding across a car park in flip flops.

It seems every time Lara emerges in public, her appearance is something to cause double takes due to the noticeable change.

Lara Flynn Boyle chose comfort over style when she was spotted out and about in L.A.

The Twin Peaks star rocked a t-shirt, sweatpants and flipflops and spiced up her low key look with dark shades.

Many experts believe Lara has undergone rhinoplasty, lip augmentation, facial fillers, or browlift/facelift procedures, DailyMail previously reported in May of this year.

The auburn-haired, fair-skinned Iowa native certainly charmed the masses as Donna Hayward in David Lynch's television cult drama Twin Peaks that only lasted two seasons on ABC, from 1990 to 1991.

Others confirmed for the new Twin Peaks include Lynch's Mulholland Drive star Robert Forster, who will replace Michael Ontkean as Sheriff Harry S. Truman, and Balthazar Getty, who starred in the director's Lost Highway in 1997.

The 18-episode series will hit the air in 2017.
