They both control an Empire, and they both have aspirations of ruling the galaxy with their children. 

Kris Jenner showed which side of the Force her allegiance lies when she bought herself a Darth Vader toy on Wednesday.

The 59-year-old, who hits the big six-o next Thursday, proved she was still young at heart as she snapped up a deluxe talking plush Dark Lord of the Sith.

The reality matriarch rocked a casual look for her shopping run to Barnes and Noble in Calabasas, opting for tight black leggings and black boots, which she matched with a black and white checked shirt.

Instead of just picking up any old random toy like less busy moms have been accused of, the mother of six appeared to put some genuine thought into her selection.

She read the description on the box intently, checked she had the correct character on her phone, and contemplatively chewed on her glasses as she weighed up the options.

In the end, it was the fallen Jedi who made his way home to Kardashian Towers, with Yoda, Chewbacca and R2D2 left to rue what could have been. 

The fresh faced Keeping Up With The Kardasians star looked confident in her selection whomever it was for, beaming happily as she strode from the store. 

Early favourite for recipient is five-year-old grandson Mason Disick.

His grandma brought him, his three-year-old sister Penelope and 10-month-old baby brother Reign to see their dad Scott on Sunday, who is still holed up in rehab in Malibu.

Not on the visit however was the children's mother and Scott's partner of nine years, Kourtney Kardashian.
