Justin Bieber got caught up in one of the most awkward interviews ever on Spanish radio on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old went from looking confused to fed up to irritated during the nine minute exchange, before getting up and walking out.

The bizarre featured three Spanish speaking DJs - one of whom had very broken English - and no translator for Bieber, who being Canadian can parle Français, but does not habla Español.

The interview starts amicably enough, but it soon becomes apparent that the one who's supposed to be serving as the translator has a tentative grip on the English language.

'You are 21, you are like a superstar, why you say sorry? For what? For being a superstar?' comes the opening question.

'You go to disco, you party in discos? You are now 21, you can now drink and go to disco?' comes the second.

After each question the trio lapse back into minutes of rapid uninterrupted Spanish, leaving the singer looking bewildered and increasingly uncomfortable.

Justin's answers even start to get irritable; when the DJ asks him if he 'ran out of people to thank' having collected six awards at the EMAs, Justin veers into a pretty vindictive sounding rant.

No point in listening: At one stage the singer even shoves in his earphones - and it's unlikely they were the station's equipment

'I just wanted to be in the moment. I don't wanna have to think about all these different people during this time, I just wanna enjoy it,' he said.

'If they need me to thank them on an award show to make them feel validated, you weren't doing it for the right reasons anyway.'

The host then jokes that they need to come up with a new award Best Male Artist Except Justin Bieber, asking who he'd give it to, but the Baby hitmaker is in no mood to play along at this stage, even sticking in his earphones.

'I dunno... maybe Drake or something? But I don't know, I think he... yeah I don't know,' he pouts, looking totally fed up.

At the seven minute mark the female presenter fires a question at him, and it doesn't help matters.

'Behind a great artist there's always a great woman, so... any woman? Behind the looks?' she quizzes.

Bieber, misunderstanding the stylist question and believing she's referring to a girlfriend, replies 'There's no woman right now' - prompting sheer disbelief from the DJ.

That's better: Later on, Justin appeared on El Hormiguero, a Spanish TV show, and appeared in much more jovial spirits

Skills: He happily posed on a skateboard as he showed off his wheely-good skills

Time to perform: Wearing a pair of bright red trousers with an embellished hoodie, Justin sat at the mic to sing

Geek chic! It seemed to be a hilarious appearance as he larked around in a thick-rimmed pair of specs

Ouch! One point in the show saw Justin getting something attached to his hand during a trick

'You? On your own? Your look? Who's getting dress you?' she smirks.

'Yeah I dress myself,' he fires back, the last of his patience clearly seeping out.

But the three hosts are utterly oblivious to his discomfort, and propose the bizarre suggestion of making 'a crazy video to break the internet' for their 'hundreds of millions of followers'.

'Hundreds of millions are they? Crazy,' Justin scoffs. 'Let's do it'... and promptly walks off.

And he appeared in fantastic spirits as he met with fans out and about in Madrid, blowing kisses at them while in a recording studio.
