And Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was every inch the belle of the ball as she dazzled at the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Los Angeles on Thursday night.

Sticking to a timeless classic for the evening, the 28-year-old model looked effortlessly elegant in a plunging black gown as she worked her magic in front of the cameras at Milk Studios.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was one of the very glamorous guests at the amfAR Gala in Los Angeles last night and she certainly didn't let the side down on the dress front.

Wearing a beautiful gown by Saint Laurent Rosie was the picture of elegance. With all the thigh high splits, sheer fabrics, slashed designs and plunging necklines we're used to seeing these days it's nice to see a celebrity just going for ravishing rather than racy.

Featuring a flattering cinched-in waist to highlight her slim frame, the British beauty's striking gown made for a simple yet chic red carpet look.

Rosie wore her dark blonde locks pulled back from her face in a tight ponytail, and injected a touch of superstar glamour with a pair of dazzling diamond drop earrings.

The Transformers star opted for natural make-up to showcase her naturally stunning features, and emphasised her plump pout with a slick of dark berry lipstick.

Rosie was without her long-term love, British actor Jason Statham, 48, at the star-studded charity event, which also saw the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Lady Gaga and supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio in attendance.

While there's no denying the actress and model looked utterly incredible for her high-profile evening out, she recently admitted her style isn't always as effortless as it looks.

She told InStyle magazine: 'I wish I could say my style is always effortless, but it's definitely not always as effortless as it looks.'

And although there's no denying the blonde is genetically-blessed, Rosie recently explained she 'works hard' to maintain her supermodel figure.

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar magazine, she said: 'I go the gym four times a week. I eat well and take care of my body and what I put in it.

'I enjoy looking the best I can look. It’s an important part of what I do, but I would do it regardless of whether I was a model or not. I’m really proud of how hard I work on my body. It’s an achievement.

The Inspiration series was launched in 2010 to celebrate men’s fashion and style while raising funds for amfAR’s lifesaving AIDS research programs.

To date, Inspiration events have raised more than $23 million to benefit amfAR, and have been held in the likes of New York, Los Angeles, Paris, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, and Miami.
