But after a six and a half hour flight from New York to Los Angeles Kylie Jenner decided not to rock a different look, as she touched down in her home town.

But while Kylie, 18, remained in her crop top and jeans, her boyfriend Tyga did use the opportunity to change.

Perhaps Kylie was particularly enjoying her look which included grey keels and a matching grey jacket.

Earlier this week it emerged that Kylie Jenner's new paid-for app even has more subscribers than her older half-sister Kim Kardashian-West.

Now the 18-year-old, who Time named one of its 50 most influential teenagers, has tried to explain her appeal, telling the magazine: 'Kim's older, she has a different fanbase.'

Talking about the 35-year-old who is expecting her second child with husband Kanye West, Kylie added: 'The difference between our apps is [that] hers is very perfect. It’s simple, everything is black and white.

'I invite the cameras over and say, “Oh, hey, let’s just do this.” We do makeup tutorials and I’m laughing and talking. I know my fans are my age or younger than me, so, I just like to show my personality and show my fans my home and my dogs.

'I get really personal. I’m on Snapchat, and I’m just like them at the end of the day. Kim’s more private. She has kids. It’s just different.'

However the young Keeping Up With The Kardashian star claimed that being a celebrity isn't everything it's cracked up to be.

She said she hangs out at her home in Calabasas, California, with her 'normal friends' and watches with envy as they get ready to go to a high school party or concerts.

'I was [recently] sitting at home and my friend said, “Come to this concert right now! Wait… I forgot you’re famous.”

'I can’t just get up and go to a concert. I’ve never been to a concert like that with my friends. So there’s a lot of stuff I’ve missed out on, but there’s a lot of experiences [that I’ve had] that they were never able to experience.'

Kylie also talked about how people 'expect a lot' from her. She said that while she understood why she had been named one of the world's most influential teens, she also understood why people found it surprising.

'I know how influential I am over my fans and followers,' she said. 'I feel like everything I do, my hair color, my makeup, I always start these huge trends, and I don’t even realize what I’m capable of.

'I didn’t care what people had to say; I didn’t even read any of that stuff. People might have been upset because we were next to, like, young girls who started schools and crazy things.

'But we’re just different people! We’re influential in different ways, and that’s okay.'

Devoted sisters: Kylie glittered in gold while older sibling Kendall was a vision in black at the ESpys awards in Los Angeles in July. The girls grew up in reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians
