Kim Zolciak's daughter Brielle bursts into tears when she meets her idol Giuliana Rancic  E! News

Her mother is famous and cameras track her every move, but that didn't stop Kim Zolciak's daughter from bursting into tears when she met her TV idol.

Brielle, 18, completely lost her cool when she was introduced to entertainment news presenter Giuliana Rancic.

'I love Giuliana and I've always looked up to her,' she said before the meeting at the E! News studios in Hollywood after Kim set Brielle with a screen test.

'If I get to see her today I will probably freak out a little bit,' she admitted on Thursday's episode of Don't Be Tardy.

Sure enough Brielle went to pieces when she saw the lithe 41-year-old, who took part in the filming segment before leaving her E! News co-host job in August after almost a decade on the show.

'I've never cried over a celebrity before but seeing her in person…she's the person I idolize,' Brielle gushed about the celebrity interviewer.

'For her to be so nice, it feels like a dream,' she blubbered.

The meeting had been choreographed by Brielle's wig-loving mother Kim, 37.

After Brielle decided that she didn't want to go to college the former Real Housewife of Atlanta decided to set her up with some work in showbiz.

Jason Kennedy, Giuliana's fellow gossip newscaster joked that Brielle might 'take her job'.

'She can have it, I'm not kidding I've done this way too long, I have run my course at this joint,' said the Fashion Police host, who recently recovered from cancer while continuing her job on the air.

Before the meeting in Los Angeles Kim's husband Kroy Biermann was doubting his step-daughter's preparedness for 'real life'.

'[She] thinks we'll go to E! and they'll have this job waiting for her, maybe with a nice red bow on it and a contract sitting right there for her to sign,' he joked incredulously.

On arrival she was given a tour of the newsroom, where she met Jason Kennedy, 33.

'He's one of the sweetest people ever,' said Kim who has been friends with the presenter for several years.

Brielle was put on the spot when she was asked to read the teleprompter.

Proud mum Kim started crying when her daughter managed to orate the sentence without stumbling.

'She did so good,' sobbed Kim.

'She cries at everything,' giggled Brielle.

Despite being fearful of an empty nest Kim, a mother-of-six, decided not to hold her eldest daughter back.

Like Kroy she was concerned that her offspring might be getting things a little 'too easy'.

'We got you in the door, now you've got to keep yourself there,' she warned.

But the mollycoddling wasn't quite over - the next day they searched for apartments in Beverly Hills - for about $2,350 PCM each.

'I can't wrap my head around the fact that I'm looking for apartments for my 18-year-old daughter,' fretted Kim.

Before her trip Brielle had received fashion advice from Kim's stylist – who had picked her outfits for the City of Angels.

The teenager was struggling with her boyfriend Slade, who was unsure if he could move to the West Coast with her.

'It's not easy,' he told her.

But Brielle was determined to get her way: 'I'm not giving him up,' she told her parents later.

Back at the mansion Kim's assistant Gloria was briefing her chef Tracey about how to take care of the household.

'Every week I need pictures of the wigs, so I bring them all out and you take pictures of them,' she instructed.

'Why?' Scoffed the chef.

'So she knows the colors of them, if she needs to order more or if she needs to replace one,' she explained while Tracey fell about laughing.
