It has been four months since Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced they were ending their marriage.

And while the details of their impending divorce still need to be worked out, Ben is getting stuck back into work.

The 43-year-old was spotted on the Brunswick, Georgia set of his latest project Live By Night on Wednesday, during the first day of filming.

Meanwhile, Jennifer was seen on parenting duties, taking their two youngest children to school in Halloween costumes.

Seraphina, six, was dressed as a mallard, wearing a green duck mask and orange webbed feet, along with a brown top that was covered in feathers.

Meanwhile three-year-old Samuel appeared to be going as a blueberry bush, in a grey hoodie that was covered in fake green leaves and blue pom poms.

She sipped on a coffee as she strolled down the street with the two youngsters and their new nanny, who was hired after claims that Ben was romantically involved with their previous nanny.

Ben is directing and starring in Live By Night and also helped write the screenplay, which is based on the acclaimed Dennis Lehane crime novel of the same name.

The film, which is slated for a 2017 release, also stars Zoe Saldana, Sienna Miller, Elle Fanning and Chris Cooper.

Live By Night is set in Ben's hometown of Boston in the prohibition era, and the actor was seen driving a vintage Jaguar around while cameras rolled on Wednesday.

He was also wearing typical 1920s garb in the form of a white shirt tucked into beige high-waisted wide-leg trousers with suspenders.

Ben additionally sported shiny mahogany brogues, a striped tie and a fedora. He slipped a grey double-breasted jacket for some scenes.

That same day, the Oscar winner shared a first look at the film on Twitter.

He posted a snapshot of a monitor which showed him walking hand-in-hand with a young boy, along with the caption: 'First day. First shot. #livebynightmovie.'

The previous day, Ben was seen puffing on a cigarette as he checked out the set before filming began.

Set during the roaring 20s, the drink is flowing and bullets are flying in the age of Al Capone.

The book on which it is based follows Joe Coughlin, youngest son of a Boston police captain, after he turns his back on his upbringing to get into the world of crime.

After working his way up from petty crime, the story begins in earnest with him in the pay of the city's most notorious mobsters.

Live By Night marks Ben's first directorial effort since 2012's Argo, which won Best Picture at the Oscars in 2013.

The A-lister however was snubbed in the Best Director category, making it only the fourth time in the history of the Academy Awards that a film has won Best Picture without a Best Director nod.

This previously happened just with 1929's Wings (at the first ever Oscars), 1932's Grand Hotel and 1989's Driving Miss Daisy.

It has also been announced that Ben will helm an as yet untitled Batman reboot, while portraying the caped crusader.

He stars in the eagerly awaited Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, and will additionally play the superhero in Suicide Squad and two Justice League movies.

Ben and Jennifer announced their split on June 30, a day after their 10th wedding anniversary. They are also parents to nine-year-old Violet.
