Irish side Shelbourne produced a remarkable 2-0 victory to overcome Croatian giants Hajduk Split and book a Champions League third round qualifying tie against crack La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna.

Dave Rogers struck with 12 minutes remaining before Alan Moore secured the victory with a last-minute winner.

"It's unbelievable," said Rogers. "I've had a topsy-turvy career and been to a lot of clubs but I've found my home here. I'm stuck for words, it's amazing."

Shelbourne are the first Irish club to reach the third qualifying round.

Rogers scored with a superb volley and Moore netted from close-range in stoppage-time.

It was the first time the Dublin side had won at their Tolka Park home in European competition since 1993.

Even if Shelbourne lose to last season's semi-finalists Deportivo, the result guarantees them a place in the UEFA Cup.

Dinamo Bucharest of Romania beat Zilina 1-0 to secure a 2-0 aggregate victory and a tie against 1999 Champions League winners Manchester United. Ionel Daniel Danciulescu netted the only goal of the game.
