ABC News chief meteorologist Ginger Zee is having a very sunny day.

'This is the most nervous I've been in a while,' the mom-to-be said, adding that 'the forecast for delivery is in December'.

'My adventurous spirit has gotten me into a little bit of everything the past few years. But nothing like where I'll go now,' she added.

In the past, Ginger has performed many stunts on TV, including scuba diving with sharks, flying a drone into a volcano, skydiving, and repelling off a building.

But now, the meteorologist noted, there will be no turning back: 'All the other adventures promise you a return home. This is like, when you get home, the adventure is there and that's the big difference and that's why it is so emotional for me. 'Cause I'll do anything, but this scares me!'

On GMA today, she announced her big news with a highlight reel of her adventures while sitting alongside Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Lara Spencer, Amy Robach, and Tony Reali.

As the video wrapped, the anchors cheered, clapped, and congratulated Ginger, while Lara offered her a hug.

Amy chimed in, asking Ginger: 'With all that adventure, how did you get pregnant?'

The expectant mother played off the question good-naturedly while admitting that she had only short amounts of time at home.

Ginger - who grew up in Rockford, Michigan - married her husband in a hometown ceremony with just 55 guests last June.

The bride wore a Pnina Tornai dress at the lakeside reception, where People reported that guests ate artisan cheese plates, grilled salmon and filet mignon, and a wedding cake served on top of a wine barrel.

Now that they are expecting their first child, Ginger noted on-air that she will be absent from GMA for about six weeks after her delivery - but when she comes back, she'll have a baby.
