An increasingly busy working schedule took a temporary back-seat on Thursday evening as Lara Bingle led the glamour at the 2015 Elle Style Awards.

The Australian model caught the eye in a thigh-skimming black evening dress as she sashayed across the red carpet at Sydney venue The Mint.

With a distinctive white and grey print, the textured dress ensured she was centre of attention as she posed for photos shortly before making her way inside.

Lara, 28, added to her look with a pair of chunky black heels, while her trademark blonde locks were casually swept to one side.

The model - an ambassador for retail shopping chain Westfield - looked typically radiant as she made her way inside during a rare public appearance without her husband, Hollywood star Sam Worthington.

She was joined on the night by an array of stars, amongst them fellow model Nicole Trunfio - who jetted to her native Australia for the event from her adopted home in Los Angeles.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the supermodel confirmed that she has never been happier in life and admitted that becoming a parent for the first time with partner Gary Clark, Jr has given her ‘purpose’.

‘It’s been the most amazing ride,' she said. 'Full of love, compassion, patience and focus. You prioritise what’s important. It’s testing at times but it’s unconditional. I feel so content and I feel like I know my purpose now.’

The wife of former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke cupped a protective hand beneath her growing baby bump while posing for photos without the sporting legend.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Kyly - who is due in December - admitted she was spending much of her spare time working ahead of the imminent birth.

'I'm super busy with my candle business, so equally bub's allowing me to keep working - I'm still doing my eight to nine hour days, making the most of everything and just getting myself as ready as I possibly can,' she said.

She added that she and Michael are yet to pick out a baby name.

'We have a couple of favourites when it comes to boys and girls, so I think when the time comes, we'll just look at each other and...we'll just know the name once we see bub,' Kyly said.

However, the socialite wouldn't be drawn on whether the couple will have a traditional or edgy name, teasing: 'You'll have to wait and see'.
