Taylor Swift treats herself to some retail therapy in Beverly Hills as 'new lawsuit claims she committed plagiarism'

She usually isn't photographed without a wide grin, but Taylor Swift seemed a bit downcast as she hit Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

The 25-year-old's outing comes as it was revealed a lawsuit has been filed against her, alleging that large parts of her hit single Shake It Off had been pulled from 2013 song Haters Gone Hate by Jessie Braham, according to TMZ.

However, the 1989 hitmaker still looked stunning as she showed off her fashion credentials during the outing in a form-fitting pleated mini skirt.

TMZ reported that Jessie - who went by Jessie Graham on the single - filed the lawsuit on the grounds that Taylor's 1989 hit borrows heavily from his single.

Taylor's popular song contains the lyrics: 'Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play/ And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate,' with the chorus later saying: 'And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake.'

Meanwhile, Jessie's 2013 song says: 'Haters gone hate/ Players gone play/ Watch out for them fakers/ They'll fake you every day.'

The artist points out that Taylor uses the phrase 'haters gonna hate' more than 70 times in her 2014 song, and therefore wants $42 million from the songstress.

Jessie is also requesting that his name be added to any new prints of Taylor's single Shake It Off.

Meanwhile, this is not the only lawsuit the blonde beauty is currently dealing with. She was slapped with a lawsuit stemming from an incident that happened during a meet-and-greet at a concert in Denver, Colorado back in 2013.

The DJ, David Mueller, is suing Taylor as he was previously terminated twice from radio jobs at other stations resulting in him not working as an on-air personality since 2006 due to the star saying that he had groped her during a meet-and-greet.

The papers - obtained by People - also state that Mueller had admitted Taylor was assaulted but placed the blame on his superior at Denver radio station KYGO, named Eddie Haskell.

Taylor, however, is reportedly countersuing the radio host for allegedly groping her, with the counter suit reading: 'Ms. Swift knows exactly who committed the assault – it was Mueller – and she is not confused in the slightest about whether her long-term business acquaintance, Mr. Haskell, was the culprit.'

'Resolution of this Counterclaim will demonstrate that Mueller alone was the perpetrator of the humiliating and wrongful conduct targeted against Ms. Swift, and will serve as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts.'

The documents get even uglier as the papers allege that Mueller and his girlfriend were participating in the event when he: 'Intentionally reached under her skirt, and groped with his hand an intimate part of her body in an inappropriate manner, against her will, and without her permission.'

'Mueller did not merely brush his hand against Ms. Swift while posing for the photograph,' according to the documents. 'He lifted her skirt and groped her.'

It was also revealed back in July in a Daily Mail exclusive that The Bad Blood singer was being sued by Robert Kloetzly, boss of California-based Lucky 13, who says she ripped off his rock and roll fashion line.

Lucky 13's legal team then bombarded the global pop superstar with hundreds of discovery requests, including a peculiar demand for any promotional videos or photos that show glimpses of her 'partially visible' breasts or bottom.

Kloetzly's lawyers are expected to argue that the risqué images constitute evidence in the case because they demonstrate how the 25-year-old musician uses her sex appeal to target a similar audience to his products.

What with all of the legal drama, it's no surprise that the star stepped out on Thursday for a bit of retail therapy.

And as per usual, the star was impeccably dressed in a loose-fitting, grey crew neck sweatshirt coupled with a black and white pleated mini skirt.

The patterned skirt showed off the singer's toned pins, and she coupled the look with a pair of chunky, black heels.

She wore her short, blonde hair styled in soft waves, and hid her eyes behind a pair of tortoiseshell Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Taylor showed off a bright pink lipstick, and carried a stylish, two-toned leather purse as she made her way into the store.
