Tatum O'Neal joined Rosie O'Donnell at a fundraiser in New York Monday night and the two couldn't have seemed more happy to be with each other.

As DailyMail.com exclusively reported at the beginning of September, the actress and the TV personality enjoyed a romance over the summer.

And while People.com claimed two weeks ago the two had split after four months of dating, the two women are clearly still close, with Rosie putting her arm around Tatum's waist as they posed for photographs.

The former Hollywood actress and ex-wife of tennis ace John McEnroe came out to support Rosie at a fundraiser for her charity Rosie's Theater Kids.

It's the first time the two have been photographed together at a public event.

Tatum wore a black jacket with a full-length black satin skirt that had a pattern of flowers around the bottom.

The former co-host of The View opted for black pants and a shiny black jacket.

Back together? The actress and Oscar winner, 51, and the former co-host of The View, 53, dated over the summer, as DailyMail.com was the first to report

Their public appearance together comes just 24 hours after they posted cryptic pictures of each other on social media.

Rosie tweeted a picture of the 51-year-old actress which she appears to have borrowed from O'Neal's own Instagram account.

The original snap was taken at an early birthday dinner thrown for the Paper Moon Oscar winner by her daughter Emily McEnroe and some friends and Rosie shared it on her own Twitter feed with the mysterious caption 'then there is this...'

Tatum then responded in kind with a post of her own, sharing a black and white Polaroid of the two together and smiling - their first on social media - with the exact same caption: 'Then there is this...'

Rosie's kids Parker, Vivienne and Blake also joined their mom for the special night with both sons sporting suits and bow ties while her daughter opted for a black dress with a front slit and funky black boots.

Noticeably absent, though, was her eldest daughter Chelsea, 18, who told DailyMail.com that Rosie had kicked her out of the family home then claimed her adopted daughter had run away and was mentally ill.

Pals: At the weekend, Tatum posted this photo of herself and Rosie together with the cryptic message: 'And there is this ..'

Chelsea later told Inside Edition in an interview last week that she'd had no relationship with O'Donnell since that day and does not want one in the future.

The teenager said: 'I care about her and I hope she’s doing well. But love is a big word and I wouldn’t really use that.'

As DailyMail.com was first to report, Rosie and Tatum were pictured enjoying a boating trip in West Palm Beach Florida and also sharing a bottle of wine together at a New York City restaurant in September.

It's believed they had been dating since early August when they were spotted together at a performance of the Broadway musical Hamilton.

The reports of their breakup followed a tumultuous few weeks for Rosie who had to cope with the loss of her father and her daughter Chelsea's decision to leave home and seek out her birth mother.

During that time the comedienne's estranged wife Michelle Rounds was hospitalized for a suspected pill and booze overdose that's believed to have been a failed suicide attempt.

Rosie, 53, recently settled her divorce from Rounds, agreeing to share custody of their adopted two-year-old daughter Dakota.

Tatum, who has three grown children from her eight-year marriage to McEnroe, announced she was now 'dating mostly women' in an interview with People magazine in May.

Reps for Rosie have denied a romance, saying that the two are just friends.
