Voldemort, is that you? Ellen Pompeo shares spooky family photo on Halloween... with a ghostly face looming in the background

Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort in The Deathly Hallows, but Ellen Pompeo saw a ghostly figure that looked a lot like He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named on Halloween.

On Sunday the Grey’s Anatomy star, 45, shared a rare family photo in the garden with husband Chris Ivery and eldest daughter Stella, six.

The trio appeared to be dressed as a vampire family for the holiday.

Ellen famously keeps her children out of the public eye, and admitted that she only posted the snapshot because of the spooky face that she spotted in it.

‘This is a private family photo that I decided to share because of what appeared in the image...’ she explained on Instagram.

The ghostly face appeared to be looming over the wall that Ellen and her family were standing in front of.

Making the photo even creepier, the actress tweeted: ‘Also FYI...The house in the background is vacant.’

She added: ‘That face was NOT put there by us or the person who took the photo. I mean that's definetly [sic] a face right?’

When several Twitter users replied to say that the image was freaking them out, Ellen wrote: ‘It was @HarryJoshHair idea for me to post the photo so if you are scared blame him!!!’

She also agreed with a fan who said the figure looked like villain Michael Myers from the Halloween horror films.

Ellen and Chris married in November 2007 after four years together, and they welcomed their second child, daughter Sienna, via surrogacy in August 2014.

The actress’s hit show Grey’s Anatomy, created by Shonda Rhimes, is currently in its 12th season. Ellen has stated that she does not plan to continue acting after the series ends.
