Bindi Irwin must 'prove father Steve is dead, Dancing With The Stars judge says'

A judge has reportedly ruled that Bindi Irwin will have to prove her father is dead before she can be awarded the nearly quarter of a million dollars she is due to earn for appearing on Dancing With The Stars in the United States. The 17-year-old's father Steve Irwin, who was famous worldwide as TV's The Crocodile Hunter, was killed in 2006 after his heart was pierced by a stingray's barb while he was snorkeling in Queensland. The news made headline around the world and Bindi delivered a heartfelt tribute at a memorial service held at Australia Zoo, the family's wildlife park in Queensland. A TMZ report claims a court judge is demanding proof Bindi's father is dead before his daughter, who is still legally a minor, can receive the money from Dancing With The Stars contract. Her appearance is reportedly worth at least $US230,000, or around $A322,000.
