Supermodel Gigi Hadid and her rocker boyfriend Joe Jonas have ended their romance, it has been claimed.

The 20-year-old blonde began dating the 26-year-old earlier this year following her split from Cody Simpson but now a source has revealed their busy schedules got in the way of love.

'Joe and Gigi's relationship recently ended,' an insider told People magazine.

'Nothing serious happened... it wasn't a dramatic break up. It was just hard to make it work with their schedules. They will definitely remain friends.'

The two stars happened to both be in Los Angeles on Tuesday, but they attended completely different events.

Gigi spent some quality time with birthday girl Kendall Jenner as they celebrated her 20th birthday with a pampering session in Los Angeles as they were joined by friend and fellow model Hailey Baldwin.

Joe was also out spending some bonding time as he and younger brother Nick attended the Birchbox Man & Joe Jonas: Movember Dinner in Southern California.

Meanwhile, her modelling career has skyrocketed and she spent much of this year globetrotting for major fashion week events across the world.

She recently landed a dream job as a Victoria's Secret model and will walk the catwalk for the lingerie brand along with her best friend Kendall next week.

Joe and Gigi recently teamed up to work together on a music video for his new band, DNCE frontman.

She co-directed the clip for the group's track, Cake By The Ocean.

Despite their busy schedules, Joe seemed to be rather comfortable with her family as he attended a Global Lyme Alliance Gala in New York hosted by Gigi's mother Yolanda Foster on October 8 where the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star revealed her younger daughter Bella and son Anwar have been secretly battling Lyme disease for three years.

Then the very next day, Joe, Gigi and Yolanda, aged 51, were spotted on an outing in the Big Apple as the Jonas Brothers singer sweetly offered his arm for his girlfriend's mother to hold onto during the stroll together.

In September, Gigi revealed Joe first had eyes for her many years ago.

She recalled how he first asked her out when she was 13 years old - and she rejected him.

Speaking in a Periscope Q&A, she said: 'We met at the Grammys when I was 13 years old and he asked me to a baseball game, and I said, "No."

'I was so nervous; I literally didn't even know what it meant to hang out with a boy.'

Hinting the star didn't know how young she was at the time, she added: 'And also, Grammys are on a Sunday, and I didn't want to tell him that I had school the next day, so I was like, "No, maybe next time."'

But the rejection didn't put the former Jonas Brothers star off as he scribbled down his number on a piece of paper and handed it to Gigi's famous mother Yolanda Foster.

The blonde stunner explained: '[He] wrote it [his number] on a piece of paper and gave it to my mom.

'And then we've been friends ever since. Except now. We're more than friends, obviously.'

The couple first sparked rumours they were an item in May after they stepped out in Los Angeles together, just days after Gigi had split from Australian singer boyfriend Cody, 18.

Over the summer, the pair were inseparable and regularly put on a very public display of affection while out and about in busy cities.

Joe has had other high-profile relationships as he was linked to pop megastar Taylor Swift back in July 2008 and dated graphic designer and model Blanda Eggenschwiler from November 2012 to July 2014.
