M-LINES
Characteristic X-ray frequencies from atoms due to the excitation of electrons from the M-shell. Only developed in atoms of high atomic number.
M-LOOP
Tape path employed in VHS videotape recorders, giving rather more than 180 ' wrap on the drum; from the M-shaped tape guide in the mechanism.
