  • While Magdalena Frackowiak, 31, said she rubs a homemade avocado mask on her face, Devon Windsor, 21, said sleep is her best beauty tool

Victoria's Secret models are considered the sexiest, most beautiful women in the world, and when it comes to preparing for the annual show, the models spend has much time on their hair and skin as they do their flawless bodies.

From natural masks made out of avocado to steering clear of alcohol, this year's cast of models revealed their pre-show beauty and fitness routines to FEMAIL backstage at the brand's 20th anniversary show. But according Brazilian beauty Barbara Fialho, the most important thing a Victoria's Secret model can do to ensure a radiant appearance on the catwalk is love who she is.

'You really just have to think of you - who you are and what works best for you,' Barbara continued. 'And for me, I am just really proud of the girls. They have conquered the same dream that I have conquered.'

This is Barbara's fourth show, and she admitted she likes the 'calmness' she has today compared to the first time she walked for the brand.

However, many models are making their Victoria's Secret runway debut today, and Barbara explained that there is nothing like it.

'There are girls doing it for the first time,' she said of newcomers such as Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. 'It is a magical thing.'

And while Barbara is a seasoned vet, she certainly isn't lax when it comes to her beauty and fitness regimen.

'I do a little bit more I think than most girls because I do all the fittings for the show,' she explained. 'I try on every single outfit that is on the catwalk that you are going to see today, so I have to be ready three months early.'

Barbara credits her physique various activities, including boxing, swimming, and dancing, explaining that 'if you do more than one thing, it becomes fun'.

As for her luminous skin and luscious hair, Barbara noted that the past few months she has been even very focused on drinking 'crazy amounts of water' and sitting in a steam room to make sure her face is fresh and dewy.

Most of the models agree that they try to take care of themselves all year long, so they only have to put a little extra effort in when it comes to show time.

Polish model Magdalena Frackowiak, 31, who made her fourth appearance in a Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, said that, for her, it is all about regular maintenance.

'I always take care of myself during the years, so it is sometimes like a week before the show that maybe I tend to exercise a little bit more,' she told FEMAIL. 'I try to drink a lot of water so the skin is hydrated. I put on some beauty masks. I try to sleep a lot. You know, no alcohol.

'For the skin, I try to take care of it with natural, organic ingredients.'

The ethereal beauty noted that she likes to use natural masks made out of honey, oats, and other products that can be found in your kitchen.

Magdalena said she sometimes puts avocado on her face as well as the yolk of an egg to keep her skin soft.

'I think the key is not to touch the skin too much,' she said.

Australian model Shanina Shaik, 24, may agree with Magdalena's theory as she explained that she maintains her beauty routine all year round, however, because she put in some extra time at the gym before her fourth show with the brand, she does pay extra close attention to keeping her skin clean.

'The whole year I look after myself, but I make sure after every work out to clean my skin because it might get a little dirty with a little sweat,' she said with a laugh.

Shanina said she always enjoys the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show because unlike other runway gigs she gets to have 'a lot of fun on the catwalk'.

Get a piece of the angel action in a heavenly robe by Victoria's Secret

Finally it's the day we've all been waiting for.

Yes, the Victoria's Secret Show is all set to take place in New York later and of course all eyes are on the angels.

The 20-year anniversary show will feature Ellie Goulding and Selena Gomez singing alongside a bevy of beautiful models showing off a whole lot of lingerie, all whilst wearing wings.

For most us, the Fireworks Fantasy Bra is just that - a fantasy. But that doesn't mean we can't dress like the stars of the show! Every year there's a silk wrap for the ladies to wear whilst being pampered backstage and the good news is we can all buy it! If you want to purchase a little piece of history then click (right) to buy it now.

We love the pink stripes and silky soft texture of this robe, which would be a dream to wear on cozy nights in this winter. But since Christmas is just around the corner there's luxury nightwear landing left, right and center on the high street. This Agent Provocateur dressing gown would be a gorgeous gift! Hint, hint...

She also noted that she is excited for all of the talented performers at this year's show, especially The Weeknd, who is a 'favorite' of hers.

But the most exciting thing of all may be the fact that Shanina has finally earned her wings.

'I have wings this year too. They are really beautiful, pretty wings,' she said. 'It is the epitome of Victoria's Secret to wear wings on the catwalk so to have that moment is really special for me.'

The night is also special for many of the models who are making their Victoria's Secret runway debut.

In addition to Gigi and Kendall, both 20, Leomie Anderson, Megan Puleri, Sanne Vloet, Bridget Malcolm, Valery Kaufman, Pauline Hoarau, Leila Nda, and Vita Sidorkina will be joining the brand's seasoned veterans on the catwalk for the first time.

Bridget and Megan, who will be modeling designs from the brand's PINK line, told FEMAIL that the 'mind blowing' show has already proven to be one of the most fun ones they have done.

'Everything about this is different,' they agreed. And while Bridget noted that the 'outfits are really sexy and cute this year', Megan added that tonight's audience members and viewers who tune in to watch show on CBC on December 8 should 'expect a lot of energy' from the models.

As for their fitness and beauty routines, Bridget revealed that ever since one of the girls got an oxygen facial, which she said 'really cleans and tightens your pores'.

'I mean every single girl here works out like crazy, eats well, [and] has a lot of water,' she added.

And as for hair, Megan said she uses masks and conditioning treatments, while cutting it 'ever so often' to keep it healthy, but she admitted: 'I hate cutting my hair!'

Meanwhile Devon Windsor, 21, explained that she has always had a strict skincare routine in place so doesn't need to make too many changes, even when she's busy preparing for such a high-profile show.

'I have always had the same skincare routine,' she explained. 'I am very good at washing my face in the morning and at night; I use a lot of moisturizer too because I think that's super important.

'I also use the Clarisonic face brush a couple of times a week because I think that keeps everything tight and fresh.'

But the model also added that, in addition to her favorite beauty products, there are other things she does in order to ensure she looks as fresh-faced as possible.

'I sleep at least nine hours a night - honestly,' she said. 'And I drink a lot of water.

And while Devon might have seemed like she was feeling cool and calm about walking in her third show, she admitted that she feels 'blessed' to be taking part in such a high-profile fashion event.

'It is crazy I am just so honored to be here,' she said.

'I can't believe it has been 20 years; I can't imagine how it was on the first show. It was probably way different but i am just so blessed to be here.

'It is my third show and to be here with all the girls and all the people that work here they have become a bit of family to me, it's just such a great experience.'

As far as the overall beauty look for the catwalk show, haircare expert Sarah Potempa, creator of the Beachwaver tool being used to give the models their naturally-flowing waves, told FEMAIL that the look was supposed to be as natural as possible.

'The vibe is kind of enhancing everyone's natural beauty so we are going with the part that they have that is natural,' she said.

'So if it is a center part and that's what looks best on them, or if it goes to the side and they like to flip it, we are just trying to take what they love and enhance it.

'What we want is everyone to have a natural volume that kind of feels like it is beach-waved or like they've had it up in a bun and let it down loose.'
