Viewers last saw hapless flatmates Mark Corrigan (Mitchell) and Jeremy 'Jez' Usbourne (Robert Webb) bickering over Mark's girlfriend Dobby, before she fled to New York.
The ninth series, which will be comprised of six episodes, has been confirmed as the last, with both stars citing Mark and Jez's advancing ages as a good reason to call it a day.
Asked how he feels about the show ending, Robert revealed to the Daily Mirror he was 'gutted', adding 'we’ve done it for 12 years.'

'But it’s the right time to end it. They’re on the cusp of being middle-aged, and it’s not about middle age.'
Fans are being kept in the dark about the new series, but it has been confirmed that Olivia Coleman is returning as Mark's former flame Sophie and Matt King is back as drug-addled Super Hans.
David revealed he was mourning the end of an era, saying, 'I think it’s very sad. The set will all be chucked out'.
Peep Show returns on Channel 4 at 10pm.
