She was in the city to witness her second youngest daughter realise a career dream.

And Caitlyn Jenner looked to have picked up Kendall's supermodel strut as she was pictured striding around New York City in a dangerously high-hem dress ahead of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show at Lexington Avenue Armory on Tuesday.

However, her run wasn't quite so glamorous as the 20-year-old's as it was somewhat ruined by a spontaneous downpour.

The former athlete hoped to turn heads as she stepped out in a blue printed dress which rested high on her thighs, exposing almost the full length of her legs.

Caitlyn, 66, further heightened her 6ft 1" frame with a pair of black suede heels which weren't the most practical option as she was caught in a blustery downpour en route back to her hotel after picking up coffee.

The parent-of-six warded off the chilly temperature with a long black wool coat which featured four buttons on the mid-section and, thanks to the unpredictable gusts of winds, opened up to reveal her stems.

Caitlyn made it back to her hotel in one piece, albeit a little flustered but she emerged hours later dressed in her glad rags as she stepped out to the much-awaited VS lingerie showcase which she attended with ex-wife Kris Jenner.

The former married couple put any outstanding tension behind them to show their united support to their daughter Kendall who was making her debut.

They put on a friendly display as they were pictured catching up backstage, dressed in contrasting thigh-skimming ensembles.

They weren't seated together however - Caitlyn sat with pals while Kris, 60, was joined in the audience by toyboy boyfriend Corey Gamble, who was celebrating his 35th birthday.

The former couple - who were married for almost 24 years - officially divorced in March, a month before Caitlyn came out as a transgender woman in an interview with Diane Sawyer and after months of speculation.

Caitlyn and Kris Jenner turned the Victoria's Secret show into a family affair.

The proud parents were on hand to support their supermodel offspring Kendall, the newest VS angel on the block. And of course they scored front row seats! Kris looked devastatingly glamorous in a crystal embellished dress by Balmain, but Caitlyn's LBD totally stole the show.

While Kendall was undoubtedly thrilled to have both parents witness her big moments, she recently revealed that they made her and her sister Kylie,18, take sides when they decided to end their marriage.

In a teaser for the new series of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, she said: 'Dad and mom put me and Kylie into choosing between them.'

And while Kris and Caitlyn exchanged pleasantries at the show, they've had quite the tumultuous year with the momager previously lashing out at her ex-husband, telling her to 'go f**k himself'.

She was furious with Caitlyn - who was born Bruce - after she accused her of bullying her during their 24 years of marriage in her first interview as a woman.

Kendall banned her famous siblings from attending the annual lingerie spectacular.

While preparing for the big event backstage, Kendall admitted to New York Daily News: 'I told them all to stay away.'

The reality star explained that having sisters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney - and presumably Kylie - there on the day would just be too much to handle.

Kendall was pictured backstage at the Lexington Armory in New York on Tuesday wearing a silky satin pink robe as she had her hair and make-up perfected.

She found out just last week that she had scooped one of the coveted spots in the show.
