Thousands of defiant Parisians have ignored a five-day ban on public demonstrations - imposed by French police and ministers - as they gathered at significant squares and buildings on Saturday night to remember those who lost their lives in Friday's horrific attack. Hundreds stood outside Notre Dame (bottom right) for a special Mass, while white flowers and candles were laid outside the venues targeted by ISIS gunmen as they slaughtered 129 people. As the city still reels from the horror, several vigils ended in panic after mourners said they heard gunshots and trampled over flowers (top right) while clutching their loved ones (left) in a desperate bid to escape from harm. Officials later confirmed the noise had come from firecrackers and said armed police had further panicked the crowds.

Their huddle in Antalya, Turkey, on Sunday came after the extremist group claimed responsibility for Friday's horrific coordinated attacks in Paris that left 129 people dead and hundreds injured. The two leaders chatted in a foursome with Obama's national security adviser Susan Rice and a Russian aide. Their meeting was visible on a television feed provided by the summit's host country, but their conversation couldn't be heard. They spoke for around half an hour before they rejoined the rest of the leaders. Reporters weren't allowed in for the meeting, which took place during a working lunch for leaders attending the summit. During the talks with world leaders, Obama said 'the skies have been darkened' by the attacks in the French capital. He vowed to stand in solidarity with France and aid the effort to hunt down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

This is the terrifying moment a pregnant woman clung to a second floor window ledge at the Bataclan theatre in a desperate attempt to escape the deadly massacre inside the venue in Paris. The video footage shows the woman struggling to hold on to the windowsill as people rushed out of the venue's back door, leaving a trail of blood as they dragged their dying friends from the scene. Terrified, she screams for help and shouts 'help, help, I'm pregnant' as people rush out of the theatre past the dead bodies lying at the back door. The woman's dramatic escape came after four masked militants armed with AK-47s marched into a rock concert at the Bataclan theatre and went on to slaughter more than 80 people. They detonated their suicide vests as police tried to raid the theatre.

Far-right demonstrators stormed a candlelit vigil being held for the Paris victims in Lille, northern France, and chanted 'Out the Muslims' while setting off flares into the crowd of mourners. The Anti-Islam protesters also waved signs which read 'Expulsions les Islamistes', which translates to 'Throw out Islamists', as they descended on the candlelit vigil. Despite causing widespread disruption to the peaceful vigil, the protesters ended up being chased away by members of the Human Rights League who told them 'get out fascists'. It came after Front National leader Marine Le Pen declared French people 'are no longer safe' in their country and called for France to take back control of its borders.

Nohemi Gonzalez was identified as one of at least 129 who died in a series of attacks in Paris, including a restaurant where the 23-year-old suburban Los Angeles native lost her life on Friday night. Boyfriend Tim Mraz (top right), who was home in California as Gonzalez studied abroad, posted on Instagram that he 'lost the most important person in my life'. Helen Wilson (bottom right) was shot in the legs at the Bataclan theatre and at least one other American was injured in the attacks, though his life is not believed to be in danger.

The Adventures of Young Ben Carson sketch saw SNL comedian Jay Pharoah impersonate the Republican doctor (bottom left), switching from the doctor's mild-mannered demeanor to a rage where he tried to stab someone with a knife. The attack, playing off of what the real-life Dr Carson (top left) said of an actual encounter that made him rethink his ways, is thwarted when the blade hits a belt buckle. Jaimie Alexander spends up to seven hours every day of shooting having her body covered in intricate 'tattoos.' The actress plays a Jane Doe who wakes up naked in a duffel bag left in Times Square with no memory of who she is or how she got there. Her only clued to her identity are the hundreds of mysterious tattoos that cover almost every inch of her skin. But the actress believes the ink used for the make-up tattoos is toxic, and are making her ill, sources claim.

Libra, a 15-year-old dog from Florida, died back in 2013. And a photo of her final car ride has recently gained internet fame after being posted on Reddit and having her story told by her owners, including Nicole Alderman from Titusville (right), who remembered that Libra 'was our baby and this was the hardest thing'.

Vincent 'Don Vito' Margera (pictured left and right, with Bam) was best-known for the pranks he pulled alongside his nephew Bam Margera on the MTV show as well as the Jackass movies. He also appeared in other projects alongside Bam, including Viva La Bam.  Margera died at 6.45am on Sunday, Bam's mother April told TMZ. The website reported Margera, who has been battling kidney and liver failure for years, fell into a coma in October and has been in a bad condition since.

The scenes were filmed in 2001 and the double trouble trickery was only discovered by fans recently.

Ka Yang, 34, was convicted of first-degree murder of Mirabelle Thao-Lo, who suffered burns on 60 percent of her body as well as internal organs. Yang had argued she was in the middle of an epileptic seizure when she placed her daughter in the microwave. But prosecutors argued she lied to investigators about the baby's death until they found a pacifier in the microwave. Yang, who has three surviving sons, faces 26 years to life in prison.

Kenny, Kelsey, Natalie, Brandon, Alexis, Nathan and Joel McCaughey, from Carlisle, Iowa, will turn 18 on November 19. The septuplets were born after their mother, Bobbi, took fertility drugs. Six of the siblings have college plans while Brandon will join the Army.Their career plans include teaching, music, construction and computer engineering.

Four raccoons broke into an art gallery in Newport, Oregon and were caught red-handed by police, who posted a whimsical account of the arrest, as well as a hilarious photo of the guilty-looking masked bandits.

This is the moment a mother was thrown from her car when when a semi-truck crashed into the family's car (pictured) on a snowy Montana highway during a blizzard last year (aftermath of the first subsequent crash shown bottom right). In the dash-cam footage, the mother is seen lying in a median (top right) where she cheats death another two times during the extremely hazardous conditions. The Montana Highway Patrol released the video on Monday as a warning to drivers to slow down when driving through a crash scene and inclement weather.

Advertising guru Charles Saatchi has unearthed a selection of shocking posters from the 1950s and the 1960s which would today be considered offensive, sexist and in poor taste. They portray women as submissive, make racial slurs and laughably describe the 'benefits' of radioactivity and cocaine.

The huge mass of ice crashed into the sea off the west coast of Greenland in Disko Bay. It was caught on camera by Alexander Perov, from Moscow, as he tried to take pictures of a yacht passing in the iceberg's arc. The 50-year-old, who was there primarily to take photos of the Russian yacht Peter 1's expedition, said the ensuing speeding wave was like a 'tsunami' - and his awe quickly turned to panic.

Callie, a Pit Bull and Catahoula mix, struggles to keep her eyes open and she continues to drift off to sleep. The tired pup struggles to find a good position to sleep in. But then Callie finally rests her head on the 3-month-old baby boy and she immediately begins to snore, finally letting her eyes stay shut. The boy's family said they rescued Callie, who was also 3-months-old at the time of the video, after she was tied to their fence.

An amazing surprise engagement has gone viral after a man organised for a train full of people to serenade his girlfriend, before getting down on one knee and popping the question. The unknown couple met on that exact train - from Glasgow Central to Hamilton - five years previously, so was the perfect spot to propose. Aimee Glen from Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, captured the whole thing on her phone but says she had no idea what was about to happen. She then posted a heartwarming message about the proposal on Facebook.

When super-suave Roger Federer agreed to make a promotional video of himself playing table tennis, the instructions were clear and simple: DO NOT hit the ball. But it seems that the tennis star's competitive instinct was just too strong and he couldn't resist smashing the ball back over and over again (left).
