The National Enquirer was first to report that Sheen is HIV positive, a story they have worked on for 18 months,, and two hours after they released their story People confirmed the news with crisis manager Howard Bragman.

TMZ reports that Sheen has known for a little over two years about his diagnosis and that thanks to the cocktail of drugs he has been taking the virus is now 'undetectable' in his system.

Shocking claims: The National Enquirer is reporting that Sheen is HIV positive

Charlie - who has had three wives, additional fiancees and lived with various porn star 'goddesses' has long flouted traditional ways - and the Enquirer reports his health has not slowed him down.

'Charlie had sex with multiple partners since learning his HIV status without informing them of his potentially deadly HIV infection,' a source told the Enquirer.

Another source said; 'Charlie hired escorts, and him being HIV-positive never entered these women’s minds.

'The fact is, he was playing Russian roulette with their lives, while the women were playing Russian roulette with the prospect of becoming pregnant by Sheen, and being set for life.'

The Enquirer is also reporting that one of the women who was allegedly exposed settled a civil action against the actor after retaining Gloria Allred as her lawyer.

Sheen has been married three times and has five children - a daughter Cassandra, 21, with high school sweetheart Paula Profit; Daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, 10, with second wife Denise Richards; and twin boys Bob and Max, 6, with third wife Brooke Mueller.

He had been engaged to be married to adult film star Scottine Ross, also known as Brett Rossi, but the engagement was called off in October 2014 after eight months.

In a video obtained by the Enquirer, Ross is reportedly seen screaming about Sheen; 'You exposed me to HIV for a year and a half!'

An insider claims; 'Sheen waited over four months to inform Scottine that he was HIV positive. From the very beginning, Sheen never used protection, saying he "loved" her.'

The Enquirer also reportedly obtained a text message sent by Mueller to Sheen's former assistant which reads; 'I couldn’t handle the HIV news. Just 6 months ago I was diagnosed with the eye disease and then Charlie potentially giving me HIV.

'I started doing heavy drugs with Charlie, staying up for days and it made my brain misfire.'

The ex-boyfriend of one of the women allegedly exposed to HIV from Sheen told the Enquirer; 'Charlie bought her a house in Calabasas and put her on his payroll to keep quiet. Now she’s married, and she and her husband are living off Charlie.'

Another source added; 'There are tons of girls that get a regular check from Charlie. It’s kind of an apology for exposing them to what he’s exposed them to.'

Sheen had reportedly spent $5million to keep the news that he had HIV 'silent,' but despite this it has now become an 'open secret' to many in Hollywood.

An email that was released in the wake of the Sony hack from March of 2014 included a link to an article reporting that Sheen was having trouble on the set of his show Anger Management, and the sender wrote 'it's hard to to be a drug addict and be HIV positive and do 40 eps a year.'

Nik Richie, who runs the site The Dirty, also revealed on Monday that a lawsuit filed by Sheen against the site after they reported he was HIV positive had been dropped according to lawyer Marty Singer.

Access Hollywood spoke with a source who claims Richards knew that Sheen was HIV positive and that he contracted the disease after the two split.

The source added that Richards and Sheen have not been intimate since their 2006 divorce.

He is reportedly not aware how he contracted the virus.

He was once the highest paid actor on television, earning a reported $1.8million per episode for his work on Two and a Half Men during the show's eighth season.

The actor has had numerous problems with drugs and alcohol over the years, and was ultimately fired from his role on Men when he demanded more money for his work following his third stint in rehab in a 12-month period.

Born Carlos Estevez, Sheen is the son of actor Martin Sheen and brother of Emilio Estevez.

His acting career began in 1984 when he starred in the film Red Dawn, and he would go on to star in such classics as Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Platoon, Wall Street and Major League.

In a bizarre incident in 1990, Sheen's fiance Kelly Preston was shot in the arm when his gun accidentally fired while she was picking up a pair of his pants and shrapnel or porcelain from where the bullet hit the toilet bowl grazed her arm.

The incident was reportedly an accident, but Preston called off their engagement soon after.

It was revealed a few years later in 1995 that Sheen was a client of the escort agency run by Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss.

He was married that same year to model Donna Peele, but the two divorced after just five months.

The actor suffered a stroke three years later in 1998 after injecting himself with cocaine and overdosing on the drug, something he admitted to in a 2004 interview with The Telegraph

He entered rehab soon after the incident but left almost immediately, but a few months later entered a program and was reportedly clean for years.

He was arrested in 2009 after assaulting Mueller on Christmas day in Aspen. Mueller told police that Sheen placed a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her when she asked for a divorce.

Sheen allegedly said to Mueller; 'You better be in fear. If you tell anybody, I'll kill you. I have ex-police I can hire who know how to get the job done and they won't leave any trace.'

He eventually pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and received 30 days in a drug rehab center, 30 days of probation, and 36 hours of anger management.

Less than a year later in October 2010 Sheen caused $7,000 in damage to his room at New York's Plaza Hotel after a night of drinking and doing cocaine.

Sheen had just a week left on probation when the incident occurred. The escort who was with Sheen at the time said she locked herself in the bathroom she was so afraid of the actor.

Richards, who was staying across the hall from him at The Plaza with their two daughters, had staff at the hotel call the police and later accompanied Sheen to the hospital where he underwent a psych evaluation.

Sheen was never charged with a crime for the incident, though the woman with him, Capri Anderson, later sued him claiming he choked her.

He was back at it again in January 2011, going on a bender in Las Vegas that resulted in him missing work on Two and a Half Men. Two weeks later he went to the hospital suffering severe abdominal pain, and the next day checked into rehab.

That March, after being forced to cut their season short because of Sheen's problems, Warner Brothers terminated the actor from his contract.

Soon after, Sheen went on a nationwide tour he called Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not An Option.

He also began doing interviews with almost every major network in which he claims to have 'tiger blood' and be a 'ninja assassin from Mars.'

This is also when Sheen began dating his 'goddesses,' Bree Olson and Natalie Kenly.

Olson, wrote on Twitter Monday; 'Recorded myself for half an hour being tested for HIV and getting the results. This is so stressful.'

Sheen later apologized for his behavior in early 2011, saying he did not recognize himself.

This is when he began work on Anger Management and also appeared in cameo roles in films including Machete Kill and Scary Movie 5 alongside Lindsay Lohan.

In Scary Movie, Lohan and Sheen play themselves as troubled stars with past drug and alcohol issues who are making a sex tape.

The past few years have been seemingly uneventful for Sheen, save a few vicious Twitter attacks on ex-wife Richards who he seems to always reconcile with in the end.

He was caught on film being taken out of a California bar in a headlock last month after an incident in which he broke a fan's phone, but no charges were ever pressed against the actor.
