Rio Ferdinand took a trip to university on Monday night to speak in front of the renowned debating society the Oxford Union.
The former Manchester United and England defender, who has become known for his outspoken views since his retirement, had clearly done his research on the university before his talk.
He tweeted beforehand: '26 UK Prime Ministers, 27 Nobel laureates and 47 Nobel Prize winners - really excited to be speaking at the Oxford Union today - en route!'

The former Manchester United and England defender was speaking in front of the university's debating society
Ferdinand also stopped to have a look at a few of the books in the library, and take a selfie with one lucky student.
He then tweeted after the event: 'Decent evening speaking at the Oxford Union tonight.. Thanks for having me!'
Ferdinand retired from playing at the end of last season after a glittering career.
The defender started at West Ham before moving on to Manchester United where he made more than 400 appearances and won six Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2008, among a host of other trophies.
He then tweeted after the event: 'Decent evening speaking at the Oxford Union tonight.. Thanks for having me!'

Ferdinand had a glittering career at West Ham, Manchester United and QPR before his retirement
He then finished his career with a season at QPR in 2014-15, as the west London club were relegated from the Premier League.
Ferdinand also won 81 caps for England, scoring three times, and featured for the Three Lions at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups. In 2010 he was appointed national team captain by Fabio Capello, but missed that summer's World Cup in South Africa through injury.
