Mario Balotelli has posed with a new set of colourful football boots on social media and declared he can't wait to get back on the pitch and scoring goals with his new 'cartoon' boots'.

The AC Milan striker admitted that these are now among his favourites.

The colourful boots have orange laces and are predominantly white, but with striking splashes of blue, orange and yellow include a comic-book 'Pow!' inscription on the instep.

On the heel of the boot is inscribed 'Bam!' as the former Manchester City and Inter Milan striker harks back to the vintage Batman comic books.

On the outside of the colourful boots is a tribute to the Italian's late adopted father, Franco Balotelli.

Alongside an Italian flag is a stitching of his first name, Franco.

The former Liverpool striker has been given a vote of confidence by his AC Milan team-mate Luiz Adriano who is confident the Italian will get back to his best during his loan spell at the San Siro.

Balotelli had a torrid time at Anfield after Brendan Rodgers controversially gave him a lifeline in the Premier League, but Liverpool shipped him out on loan back to Milan, after the 25-year-old only scored four times in 28 appearances for the Reds.

But Adriano backs the hot-headed forward to rediscover his previous form at Milan after Balotelli netted 30 times in 54 appearances during his first tenure with the Rossoneri.

'The qualities that he possesses and the work he is doing here guarantee that he will return to being that Balotelli,' he told Goal.com.

'Now it is time for him to be get well physically, get confident again and play like he played before, so that the world can see that quality that he has.

'What impresses me the most about him is his technical quality. He has a lot of skills and can change any game at any time.'

But his return to AC Milan has not been as glorious as his previous spell as he has not featured for Milan since late September, due to a persistent groin problem, and he has only been able to make four appearances and score one goal in Serie A.
