Chic Marion Cotillard flashes a hint of her flat tum in cropped black and white top for Macbeth screening

They are the stars of what is tipped to be one of the biggest and bloodiest theatrical adaptations to date, so it was fitting to see actress Marion Cotillard rocking a dramatic black and white bold statement jumper for a special screening of Macbeth.

The French beauty, who plays Lady Macbeth in the upcoming movie adaptation of the Shakespeare classic, joined her co-star Michael Fassbender for a special screening at the Ham Yard Hotel in London on Sunday.

Marion, 40, kept the winter chill away by opting for a warm polo neck, though she gave fans a cheeky peek of her toned torso by wearing a cropped style.

Marion teamed her dramatic jumper with slick black trousers showing off her trim physique in her casual ensemble.

She let her natural beauty shine through by opting for just a touch of make-up, accentuating her blue eyes with white eyeliner on her lower lids and a very subtle smokey eye on the top.

She kept her hair soft and sexy with a loose wave which added body to her dark brown locks.

Add a cozy intarsia sweater to your Fall wardrobe

She's the face of the Lady Dior ad campaign. So it wasn't much of a shock when Marion Cotillard wore a piece from the Fall 2015 collection to a screening of Macbeth.

The French actress teamed her black and white high neck sweater with a pair of black pants and shiny oxford shoes, proving that high fashion doesn't always have to be over the top.

We love the sheer simplicity of the intarsia pullover and of course the monochrome colorway can be worn with just about anything. Wear it casual as Marion does here or dress it up with a skater skirt and ankle boots as they did at the runway show.

Now you can make this look your own with the alternatives in the edit below. Get a textured look at NY Collection or go for zebra striped by Moschino. All budgets are covered so there is something for everyone.

Movie heart-throb Michael, 38, who plays the lead Macbeth in the film, similarly paired down his usual red carpet look too.

The adaptation of Shakespeare's classic received rave reviews when it was screened at Cannes Film Festival in May.

The Guardian wrote: 'As Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard are a dream-team pairing, actors who radiate charisma, perhaps more charisma than can be entirely absorbed into the fabric of the film.'

Meanwhile the Telegraph was also impressed, writing: 'It’s hard to shake the sense that Fassbender was born for this... Kurzel’s Macbeth, though, has been blessed with just about the rightest cast imaginable. It is built around a pair of cosmically powerful performances from Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard.'
