Stripes make most women appear thicker, but not Nicole Richie.

The slender reality star looked chic and not a bit wide as she wore a black-and-white striped sweater over skinny jeans while shopping at Papyrus in Sherman Oaks on Sunday.

Also with the 34-year-old designer were her two children Sparrow and Harlow.

The former Simple Life star carried a plastic shopping bag and also slung a black leather purse over her shoulder.

Her children were dressed just as comfortably as she was for the occasion.

Holding the woman's hand, Harlow looked cosy in a red flannel shirt, leggings, and a fluffy pair of black boots.

Sporty: Little Sparrow sported a blue top and a matching pair of Adidas track pants

Her brother Sparrow donned a sporty blue top and matching Adidas track pants.

Not joined during the outing was Nicole's husband and father of Sparrow and Harlow, Good Charlotte lead singer Joel Madden.

The couple have been married since 2010.

The twosome have recently offloaded their five bedroom Hollywood Hills home for $2.67 million, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Aside from parenthood, Nicole has also been hard at work on her flourishing fashion venture, House Of Harlow.

The reality star opened her third House Of Harlow pop-up shop in October in Canoga Park.

It is the third of it's kind for the company, which has also set up pop-up shops in Dubai and The Grove in Los Angeles.

The latest store was scheduled to run until the end of October at it's Canoga Park location.
