Rita Ora is dressed down in grey jacket and high-rise cropped trousers as she enjoys casual night out in London following X Factor disappointment

She was shocked when she lost her second act, Monica Michael, on Sunday night during a double elimination.

But X Factor judge Rita Ora wasn't letting the bad news get her down, stepping out in London on Monday for a casual night out with a group of friends.

The 24-year-old singer was dressed down for the occasion in a grey jacket and cropped trousers as she left Hakkasan restaurant.

Rita looked fashionable as ever in her statement jacket, emblazoned with Chinese symbols, worn over a plain black top.

She set off her smart black trousers with a pair of lace-up ankle boots and carried a leather satchel over one shoulder.

The star wore her platinum blonde bob in a straight style and completed her look with a slick of bright red lipstick.

Rita was putting on a brave face following the disappointing result at the weekend, which saw her wildcard act Monica leave alongside Simon Cowell's protégé Max Stone.

The striking star is now pinning all her hopes on her girls Lauren Murray or Louisa Johnson for the win after Monica lost out against Anton Stephans in the bottom two.

While Monica performed a rousing and fiery rendition of Beyonce's Broken Hearted Girl, Anton chose to showcase his vocal abilities with Simply Red's If You Don't Know Me By Now.

With the two acts clearly making the choice of who to send home difficult, Nick Grimshaw was the first judge forced to choose between them and based his decision purely on the sing-off.

Electing to save Anton, he said: 'Anton did perform better, so I have to send Monica home.'

Rita and Cheryl both chose to save Monica, and Simon then decided to take the decision to deadlock.

Co-host Olly Murs made tensions rise even further by mistakenly telling Monica that she had been axed as he appeared to get the tally of the judges' votes wrong.

Apologising profusely, the former X Factor runner-up couldn't hide his obvious embarrassment at such a monumental gaffe - something that earned him a huge backlash on social media.

Feeling sheepish? In yet another shock double elimination both Simon Cowell and Rita saw two of their acts go home following Saturday's movie-themed show, while Olly Murs was left red-faced following a gaffe
