Rita Ora struts with defiance in her bizarre jacket as she leaves The X Factor studios... after sending Twitter into a frenzy for 'forgetting her trousers'

Every week she's been doing her best to make a sartorial impact.

And on Sunday night, Rita Ora achieved maximum reaction for minimal ensemble as she sent Twitter into a frenzy over her clothing choice - a Acne jacket, and little else - for The X Factor results show.

The 24-year-old seemed in fantastic spirits as she was later seen departing the TV studios in London's Wembley, blowing air kisses and flashing her huge smile while still wearing her divisive outfit.

For the live broadcast, Rita showed off her wild side as she donned a long tuxedo jacket in a pale beige tweed with black shiny lapels and an eye-catching shiny blue pocket.

But she teamed the jacket with completely bare legs, using the item of outerwear as a dress.

Combined with a classic nude heel and not even a top or bra underneath, the overall effect was one of near-nakedness, and fans of the show had something to say about her bizarre ensemble on Twitter.

'Catching up on #XFactor you'd think one of the other judges would have told Rita Ora she forgot to put her trousers on  #onlywearingajacket,' one viewer quipped, remarking that the singer must have forgotten half of her attire.

Another added: 'It would appear that Rita Ora has forgotten to put on her trousers #xfactor.'

The social networking site was awash with comments about her statement style choice, a completely different look for her appearance the previous evening, which saw her wow in a gorgeous full-skirted pale blush gown.

One joker wrote: 'Rita Ora is having one of those dreams where you forgot your trousers #XFactorLiveShows.'

Another questioned her need to show so much of her figure on live TV: 'Rita Ora is so pretty and eloquent WHY is she wearing a jacket with no trousers.'

Not all bad: Although many remarked that she looked bizarre, some actually rather enjoyed her sartorial efforts on the night

And there was also a reaction to the unusual oversized shiny addition to her smart jacket-cum-dres: 'Is Rita Ora's giant pocket on her jacket a guest appearance tonight? That thing is massive lmao. #XFactor.'

But it wasn't all negative, as one devotee to the Body On Me hitmaker gushed: 'Rita Ora has her grandfaithers jacket on and her Barnet is incredible. Smashing looking wummin tae, play the game Rita!'

Despite the largely confused reaction to her latest look, Rita was unfazed and put on her best smile and strut as she emerged from the building not long after the show had ended.

While she often changes out of her TV ensemble for her onward journey home, she was proud of hers on Sunday and kept it on, once again showing off her stunning slim pins and ample chest, which was barely protected by the blazer, designed by Acne Studios.

She wore her ever-changing platinum locks in a blunt mid-length bob for the show, complete with a heavy fringe, and added another edge to her look with the application of bright turquoise shadow on her eyelids.

The funky aesthetic was markedly different from that of her co-star Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, who looked classy and elegant in her body-skimming golden gown.

Meanwhile, Rita's outfit wasn't the only part of The X Factor that had the viewers up in arms on Sunday night.

Co-host Olly Murs made an almighty blunder while revealing which act would be leaving the competition, as he blurted out that Monica Michael was eliminated before her fate was actually decided.

The X Factor presenter Olly Murs said he was a "plonker" after he told a contestant she was going home before the result was officially announced.

After Murs and his co-host Caroline Flack asked the judges to choose who they wanted to send home between Monica Michael and Anton Stephans, Murs told Michael she was eliminated, before Flack said: "No, Olly, she's not."

Quite the difference: Rita's outfit contrasted greatly to her co-star Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's - the other judge had glowed in a gorgeous golden gown

Murs then said: "Sorry. I apologise for that. Sorry Monica. I do apologise."

It appeared Murs thought three out of the four judges had opted to send Michael home, meaning that she would have been automatically out of the competition but, as two judges had voted for each contestant, the "deadlock" was decided by the public vote.

Flack then announced: "The act who received the fewest votes from the public and who will be leaving the competition tonight is ...it's Monica Michael."

After the show, Murs tweeted: "I apologise to everyone tonight I made a massive f%£k up at the end. It was so tense!! I'm still learning & hope that never happens again!"

Awkward: But Rita's outfit wasn't the only thing that got fans of the show talking, as Olly Murs made the ultimate live TV blunder when he revealed Monica Michael (left) was leaving the show... too early

Former X Factor host Dermot O'Leary tweeted support, saying: "Didn't see the show tonight, but live TV is a tricky old beast at times. After this weekend... perhaps some sense of context should prevail."

Murs then replied: "Cheers Derm!! Beating myself up about it mate! What a plonker!"

After the show Flack tweeted: "We all make mistakes . I make LOADS in life and on telly ... It's live."

An X Factor spokesman said: "As Olly said himself on Twitter, it was a genuine mistake."
