David Haye has been training with Shane McGuigan as he plans his heavyweight boxing comeback.

The former two-weight world champion has been out of the ring since beating Dereck Chisora at Upton Park three years ago.

But he has teamed up with Barry McGuigan's son who also trains super-bantamweight world champion Carl Frampton.

Haye has teamed up with Shane McGuigan, son of Barry, who also trains world champion Carl Frampton

McGuigan, whose gym is in Battersea in London, also trains prospects Conrad Cummings and Josh Taylor.

And he has been putting Haye through his paces for the last few months.

'Looking at all of the British and world fighters, the one that stood out for me is Carl Frampton,' Haye told The Lad Bible.

'Carl's speed, timing, accuracy and punch variety is something I didn't have in my arsenal.

'The guy behind that is Shane McGuigan so he's the guy I sought out.'

McGuigan added: 'David is a natural athlete, punches extremely hard and has great balance and great timing

'It's easy to work with a guy as talented as that.'

Haye recently closed his gym in Vauxhall and sold his ring on eBay for £65,700 as he plans one final assault on the heavyweight division.

The 35-year-old has seen three previous comeback efforts aborted through injury.

He was due to face Manuel Charr in 2013 but suffered a hand injury in training. Three months later, he pulled out of his first scheduled meeting with Tyson Fury with a cut to the head.

The fight was then set for the following February but Haye suffered a shoulder injury that required five hours of reconstructive surgery.

Haye won the WBA title in 2009 when he outpointed giant Russian Nikolay Valuev but was comprehensively beaten by Wladimir Klitschko two years later.

He was previously the undisputed cruiserweight champion after beating Enzo Maccarinelli to unify the division.
