'I know how it feels to be alone and I just couldn't live with myself knowing that I hadn't tried to help them. I didn't want the people who had been shot to think they had been abandoned.' The picture of a 'disguised' Salah Abdeslam, who is said to be using the name 'Yassine Baghli', top, was circulated on Thursday as the international manhunt continued for Europe's most wanted man (poster, bottom). However, one friend has claimed the 26-year-old is wracked with guilt over his part in the Paris massacre, but can't hand himself in for fear of ISIS hurting his family. It is thought Abdeslam was supposed to be the eighth suicide bomber, but backed out at the last minute because things had 'gone too far'. He is said to have called two friends who then picked him up from the French capital and drove him across the border to Belgium on Saturday morning.
