They have been filming the Hunger Games movies together since 2011.

And on Friday Liam Hemsworth posted a touching tribute to his co-stars, Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, as they wrapped up their promotional tour for their latest released flick.

Taking to social media to share his thoughts the 25-year-old uploaded an image of the trio wrapping their arms around each other as they parted ways following a long hauled flight.

'Sad this #MockingjayPart2 journey has come to an end,' the Australian actor posted alongside the loved-up group snap.

'So thankful to have made such great friends and lucky to have met so many awesome fans. Love you guys and hope you enjoy the movie.'

In the image the three close pals all sported casual clothing as they posed together in front of an aircraft while they said their goodbyes.

The time for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 launch is finally here. There's just two days until its release date meaning the actors and actresses can finally sit back and relax after their worldwide promotional trail.

Liam bent over to reach his co-stars, as he towers over them, while throwing a backpack over his shoulders as he jetted off to his next adventure.

But while Jennifer and the Aussie wrapped their arms around each other, Josh had to keep hold of what appeared to be his laptop in his right hand.

On Wednesday the hunk opened up about his relationship with his two fellow co-stars - Jennifer and Josh - describing it 'unhealthy'.

Opening up: The Australian explained that the three of them 'know everything there is to know about each other so there's no secrets'

'We literally know everything there is to know about each other so there's no secrets between the three of us', Liam explained to US talk show Live! With Kelly and Michael.

'It's almost unhealthy the way we are with each other.'

The Hunger Games franchise, adapted from the teen novels of Suzanne Collins, tells the story of Katniss Everdene and her battle to survive in a life-and-death game in a post-apocalyptic world.

Liam plays the role of Gale Hawthorn, appearing alongside Lawrence in each of its four films.
