They have only been dating openly a few weeks, so Gwen Stefani is still understandably a little coy about her blossoming relationship with Blake Shelton.

The singer, who is appearing on Ellen on Friday, was quizzed by the host about her new beau, and tried to play down their relationship on the chat show.

When asked if Blake, 39, was a good kisser she laughed and responded: 'Wow! You’re so awesome.'

She then asks: 'But you’re happy and you’re having fun?'

The singer responds: I’m having lots of fun, yeah.'

Gwen evaded the question when asked if he was a good kisser saying: 'Wow! You're so awesome!'

The host then cheekily flashed up a photo of the country star, who announced his divorce from wife of four years Miranda Lambert in July this year.

She said: 'I don’t know where that came from', speaking about the shot of Blake....

Gwen joked: 'Ride em’ cowboy.'

Ellen said: I don’t know why that’s up there. That’s right he’s one of the coaches. And probably during another commercial break you’re on Adam’s (Levine) lap. I don’t know, I mean.'

Oops! The singer then got a little embarassed when a photo flashed up of her sitting on Blakes lap

Gwen, taking it all in her stride responded: 'I’m usually on one of their laps between each commercial.'

Ellen then waxed lyrical about how much she liked the singer's new squeeze saying: 'I’ve told you before I love Blake I think he’s hilarious and he really is knowledgeable. He knows so much about music, doesn’t he?'

Gwen revealed: 'I did not know this about him because I didn’t even know who he was before I was on the show.

'Before I was on “The Voice” I never heard of him before...’m an OC girl. Like what would I know? But he knows every single 80’s song. He literally is a musical jukebox. He knows everything about music it’s crazy.'

Gwen hit the headlines last week when it was revealed the reason for her split with husband of nearly 13 years Gavin Rossdale in August was because he had allegedly been having a long term affair with their family nanny, Mindy Mann.

According to Us Weekly she found explicit text messages and photos on an iPad which was linked to Gavin's phone.

While no one involved has made a comment publicly about the cheating allegations, according to an insider Gwen is allowing her new happiness be her revenge.

The source told Us Weekly: 'After everything Gavin has done, she hopes he sees what he’s missing.

'She’s moved on with somebody better who is really good to her. Her being happy is the best revenge. And she deserves it.'

She is now reportedly considering spending thanksgiving with her new beau at his home with her three boys, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo.
